Awful experience

Upon arrival we realized that the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and we had a 4 year old to feed. We ran the dishwasher and it flooded the entire kitchen floor. We also noticed that the washer had an old comforter that was soaking wet. We called the phone number provided (this is a condo owned by a person and the building is homes) the person answered and I explained the problems and they said "let me call the cleaning lady" and hung up. We cleaned up the floor ourselves and went out to get food. Tried calling the owner a few times and never received a reply. The cleaning lady did come while we were gone and removed the comforter from the washer and turned the dishwasher back on and flooded the kitchen floor AGAIN. We cleaned up the floor for the second time and hand washed all of the dishes. There were no trash instructions so by the 3rd day our trash was overflowing. We only had 2 towels which were old and left black lint all over our bodies. Since there were only 2 towels we had to share (since we had our 4 year old with us). We ended up leaving and checking into a hotel on the last night.

Amazing view of the city across the Hudson. Got some great pics from the terrace. Great location. The people were very friendly. The company I dealt with responded to emails very quickly. I will def use again :)

Be Careful

Frist of all, the Name alone is an issue. Although the Name says Luzy Suites Harborside, there is no such place on the planet. Try to enter it in a GPS...since the name is actually The Pier Apartments...which is exactly what we are dealing with here....apartments, NOT a hotel/suite. We had a 2 night stay for 3 people booked and, after 1/2 hour of driving around the same 2 block-area, took a chance and realized The Pier is The Luzy. At first, everything was cool...nice lady at the front desk, gave us one (1) key (yes, an actual key) and a parking pass for the garage and charged us $20 to park for the 2 nights....not bad. The room seemed to have everything, kitchen, seperate bedroom, flat screen, Verizon modem proudly on display...clean, nice view of Manhattan. Then the fun startes...let's turn on the TV...nothing except a 'waiting for reception'. Tried to call the front desk.....no phone. Went to the front desk, told us "no one has cable right now". So, let's call the front desk...oops, no phone and no number for the front desk. Walk back down, ask for towles...told they don't have any but will see what they can do (much like the cable TV situation). Left for Manhattan and did actually come back to 2 new (tags still on) towles. Now that we are back from a night out, lets kick back, open a bottle of wine (no cork screw available) and watch a movie (NO cable), or I'll fire-up something on the internet (NO Internet Access). There's more, but out of room...

I loved the stay. Its just like your own apartment so there is no room service. Plus no phone in the room. But the view and neighborhood was breathtaking.

Meget fin lejlighed med fantastisk udsigt

Vi havde en dejlig uge I New York/ New Jersey med en god lejlighed med en meget flot udsigt til New Yorks skyline. Der er dog et par minusser. Der var kun rengøring en gang om ugen.. Der er ingen pool på trods af at det stpr som en faciliteter. Herudover er der ingen hjælp at hente I forbindelse med ture til forskellige aktivieter I New York. Receptionen kan ikke hjælpe.

Not a hotel, so don't expect a hotel experience

The Luxury Suites is a residential building that rents out apts. for the night or short stays. I booked this room for a recent trip to Jersey City for business. While on the train heading there, I tried calling the place to request early check in only to get a recording that this was a mobile phone number that has been disconnected. Now, I'm getting concerned. We called Expedia and I reached an agent in India. Expedia had no idea what to do, so they suggested they do a search in Google to see if they could find the right number! This was no help. I ended up finding a number and locating a woman who confirmed my reservation. She said the key would be there when I arrived at the concierge desk. When I requested an early check in, she said that the concierge would accommodate me if possible, otherwise the room would be ready at 3pm. Upon arrival, I spoke to the concierge, who was really a building security person. She did not have a key and told me I would have to call the woman back to get another room for early check in. I decided to take a walk and come back at 3pm. The room/apt. was ready. The apt advertised that it sleeps 4 adults. It does if you don't mind a bed in the middle of the living room where the TV is. This is not a pull out, its a bed next to a couch, weird. This was not a hotel experience. There were no face cloths, bath mats, soaps, shampoos, none of the things you would expect with a hotel room. Outside of that, the place was clean and worked.

While the room was very nice, I could not believe that for the price we paid for the room there was no courtesy basket with basic things such as coffee. The only thing they left was 2 small bottles of water. The toilet clogged and no one came to fix it while we were there. Thank goodness it happened a few hours before we were ready to leave, We had to walk to the Hyatt Hotel and use their bathrooms. The apartment was nice, the view was great, but for the money we paid, next time I will stay right next door at the Hyatt. At least I can be assured better service and can get a cup of coffee anytime I want. Bottom line, if you stay here go food shopping first
