"Extremely disappointing experience at the Marriott in Yiwu.
My check-in time was 12:00 PM, but I arrived at 10:45 AM with two small children, including an 11-month-old baby. I asked if early check-in was possible and was told no rooms were available. Unfortunately, even at 12:00 PM the room was still not ready and I was asked to wait another hour. Meanwhile my baby was crying because she was hungry and we needed a room to prepare her milk, yet no alternative solution was offered by the staff.
I was told the hotel was fully booked, but when I checked online there were several rooms still available. Only after asking to speak with the Duty Manager was a room suddenly found and presented as an upgrade. This was neither transparent nor professional.
This was my first stay at a Marriott hotel, chosen for business and location, but the level of hospitality was far below what the brand represents.
Breakfast in the Western section was poor: limited choice and low-quality food, with industrial fruit juices instead of fresh juice.
Although “no smoking” signs are displayed everywhere, the staff does not enforce the rule. I personally witnessed guests smoking in the lobby without being stopped, and the smell of smoke was noticeable.
The room is old-style with carpet that feels unhygienic. The heating system is inefficient and the rooms are not soundproof.
Overall, a stay far below expectations. I do not recommend this hotel."
