Host exceeded our espectations. Wonderful home for our family Thanksgiving vacation, large well stocked kitchen with impressive dinning room with activites for entire family ( pool table, shufflle board, hot tub, foosball and unexpected theater room , which Grandkids enjoyed watching Garfield and eating popcorn), while extra outside areas provided adults with fantastic views of river and country side. Fishing for Trout is a plus at this location. this property offers more pluses than we have mentioned .The standout point was the the host.

Our extended family stayed her to attend my nephew's wedding. It was a bit of a partial family reunion for us. The property was very family friendly and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the spaces to play games and to be outside. The view of the river was beautiful. The porch was very relaxing just to hang out or read. We enjoyed watching the birds around the river. Overall a very nice stay for us.

November fishing trip with friends

Been hosting trips to the area for over a decade fly fishing on the Watuaga and SoHo. Our scheduled trip was in jeopardy due to the destruction from Helene and our normal lodging was heavily damaged by the flooding and closed for repair. It is a large group(10) men that enjoy the outdoors, fishing, cooking together, and a good time. This was the only place that we felt would accommodate all of us. And it did!!! It was loaded with amenities and really enjoyable. Vance is attentive and keeps up communication. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous location

Perfect for our large family. Finally enough bedrooms. 😊 We enjoyed the river, hot tub, theater, and games. Thank you, Vince for the use of your fishing poles. We want to come back and tube the river. The porches were very relaxing and the perfect place to connect with friends.

Beautiful home on the River

We rented the home for an 80th birthday party with family. This place is truly a venue.The river view and easy access to the river were a huge hit with everyone. The deck was well maintained with plenty of nice seating. We didn't use the hottub but Vince had it ready to use if we needed it. All the bedrooms were huge with private baths. There was enough room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was well maintained and stocked. I was not able to get in touch with Vince through the VRBO messaging or on the phone # I was given. I had to call VRBO to have him contact me. The day before we left we still had not received check-in instructions. The communication prior to the visit was a little frustrating. However, Vince was extremely accomadating, showing us the home features and calling to ensure everything was going well. Absolutely the nicest guy.

Family Joy and Delight

My husband, adult children, their spouses and our three grandgirls (10, 7, and 2) had a delightful time at this spacious, will outfitted river retreat. So very nice for everyone to have their own space and great spaces indoors and out to gather, hangout, enjoy the nature right outside. Our host responded within minutes to every request.

Spectacular River View

Wataugua River was spectacular feature. We enjoyed fishing, wading in the shallows and just the view from large back porch. The house was large and accommodated our big group extremely well. Kitchen was easy to use to make meals for everyone. it was especially great that all bedrooms had an en suite bathroom. Beds were very comfortable & king-size. Location had easy access to stores or anything needed in Elizabethton. Owner & host were very friendly & accommodating.

Great house

This house was amazing. Lots of space for the 9 people in my family. Plenty of room for everyone, 5 bedrooms each having it's own bath. Huge plus! Loved the house. Owner was helpful when we had an issue with something, he got right on it and took care of it immediately. The location on the river is beautiful.

Great Place!!

We absolutely loved this place!! Vince, the host was extremely helpful! The place was amazing, very big and decorated very nice! The beds were extremely comfortable. The property is beautiful and it was so nice to sit out on the deck and look at the beautiful water view. Great place for a big family with lots of room to spread out. We will definitely go back! You definitely will not be disappointed!

Would recommend to my family and friends

Really enjoyed my stay at the Riverbend Retreat. Vince was so thoughtful and ensured that we had everything we needed. The house was more than accommodating to a group of 15 for a special event. We really enjoyed the amenities and the view over the river. The house is well taken care of and loved by the owner and feels like home. I would stay again.

Outstanding!

Six anglers in town to slay some trout. We had an amazing time. After two full days of floating with professional guides, I caught the best trout of the trip off the back of this house. A 22" brown! Please catch and release so others may enjoy! The house is spectacular. So much more than we would ever need. Very well appointed in every room. Very thoughtful regarding amenities. Quality stuff. The owner, Vince, checked on us in person and is a total gentlemen and enjoyable guy. We will absolutely be back.

Beautiful River Retreat

Gorgeous home with plenty of room for the whole family. Beds were comfortable and so dreamy to have all king beds. The landscape with the river right there is beautiful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

The host Vince met us at the property and showed us all the amenities- and there are a lot! He was available for questions at anytime! Property was amazing, would highly recommend for graduations, weddings, girls weekends etc. Truly my best pick on VRBO.

Amazing home!

Our group absolutely loved this home! The river view from the back deck is stunning. We enjoyed fishing, walking in the river, soaking in the hot tub, playing pool, cooking on the grill and in the kitchen. It's a great home for a family trip, plenty of space and comfortable beds! The kids loved the theater room, the fun "party" lights in the dining room area, and the shuffle board table. Definitely would love to go back!

Absolutely Amazing Vacation!

We had an amazing time at our family get together. There were 10 of us (7 adults; 3 kids), and we had MORE than enough room. First off, the owner of the property Vince Davis, is the absolute best host ever. We read this in prior reviews, and each and every review, was spot on. He was more than accommodating to anything we needed, or questions we had. When we first arrived, he gave us a tour of the home. This house is so large, you really need one b/c the rooms just keep flowing into one another. The house is wired for music via Alexa and each room has a volume control. Vince patiently showed us where the switches were for Alexa/remotes/ceiling fans/AC, etc., which was super helpful. The house itself is just exquisite. Every room is larger than the next! All bedrooms are suites w/adjoining bathrooms, so no one argued over who got which room. Beds were super comfortable too. There is a full size laundry room; theatre room, pool table, two large balconies (one with a jacuzzi/hot tub); large screen TVs in every room, including the balcony, huge dining room, a beautiful kitchen, which is stocked full of everything - TONS of dishes, pots/pans, griddle, toaster, coffee maker, blender, tons of cookware/dishes, large coolers for drinks; and a fire pit out back, which we used on one of the cool nights - you name it, the house has it. The house is right on the river and in addition to the beautiful scenery, we were able to hang out on rafts all day, while others fished. In addition to the house being equipped with rafts and fishing poles, Vince even has a machine to blow up the rafts! He really thought of everything. Also, many places to eat right up the road - lots of fast food places, in addition to an Applebee's and a really good Italian Restaurant, the Black Olive. There is also a Dollar General, Super Wal-Mart, Publix and Food City. My birthday was 6/24, so my husband was able to order a birthday cake from Publix, which is our go to grocery in Florida. Everyone had an amazing time. If your looking for a fun getaway - this is the place. It's secluded, yet close to everything, if that makes sense. Aside from your toiletries, you really don't need to pack much. Vince, thank you so much for allowing us to share your beautiful property, which allowed us to create really fun memories with our family. We are already trying to put another trip together for us to all come back!

Great family vacation!

This house was just fabulous for our family to get together and have an excellent family vacation! Vince was always available for questions, helpful and eager to do all he could to make our stay memorable! The house was perfect for our extended family with 5 king beds, 5+ baths, lots of outdoor space, plenty to do. Fishing, floating and just lots of fun! Make the reservation!
