Our family had an amazing stay in this unit, which was well-maintained, close to an elevator, and had a nice view from the balcony. The unit even came stocked with beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and some sand toys as well). We had an issue with one of the living room curtains not closing, but the hosts were very responsive and sent someone to look at it quickly. The resort itself is a good spot for families with nice swimming pools (although the pool chairs fill up quickly), an accessible, kid-friendly beach, and a very good restaurant (Duke's). Would definitely stay here again!

Memorable Maui

Beautiful property and well-maintained. The condo was perfect for our family. The onsite pools (7) and nearby beaches were spectacular. We really appreciated all the communication with KBM. It was a terrific visit and we plan to see Maui again.

Celebrating at Honua Kai

Beautiful property and condo…everything just as described. We were celebrating our adult sons graduation from law school. Unique towel system that was very user friendly….large property that seemed quiet and peaceful even though there were lots of people there. Only negatives were the check in process and parking. You have bellman/valets that handle check in, helping people with their bags, and parking and retrieving people’s cars. Often the “desk” was unmanned….once for over 20 minutes as we were waiting to get our car for a dinner reservation. Need more than one person at the desk for each shift. Still a wonderful place to stay!

Condo is a bit run down. The carpet needs to be replaced and the furniture had some stains. There was also some hair left in the shower - gross! The cleaning was not top notch and I don’t think I would stay here again. Low frills but good for families.

Perfect place for a family beach vacation

This property was ideal for a family of four and a 7-month-old baby. The parents and baby stayed in the guest bedroom and the walls are thick enough that we barely heard the baby crying at night. Great pools, some with little rivers for kids and parents. Beautifully kept grounds and clean beach in front, plus access to adjacent properties connecting by the boardwalk. Snorkeling was phenomenal and our grandchild also loved the protective tidepools. We also went to the nearby Baby Beach and had a fantastic time, a safe and fun place for the little ones. Our unit was well equipped, a great ocean view with excellent whales viewing, and we had many meals on the lanai. Note: Definitely contact the property manager by email if there are any needs as we got a quicker response than phone calls. This resort was a friendly and super clean place for families with kids. There were a lot of grandparents with their kids and grandkids and we felt at home here. We are looking forward to coming back here soon and highly recommend this resort.

Perfect in many ways!

Everything went so smoothly, from check in to departure. The unit was perfect for our family. A good value and nice and clean. The property mgmt company was so efficient and professional. We would stay here again...and hopefully soon!

Great Condo

Location was perfect. The room layout is wonderful and allowed for a place to retreat while having a great common area. The bell staff were absolutely wonderful. We sat out on the patio and watched the most gorgeous sunsets each evening. Our first experience in a condo and would definitely come again. We even saw baby whales from the balcony. Bring binoculars for the best view of whales.

Amazing location and property

The photos did not do this place justice. Located on the beach with view from your room. The resort was amazing with several pools and a great restaurant on location. Several amenities and free valet too. Overall, an amazing place!!!

Honua Kai Resort (HKK-209)

We had a wonderful time. We enjoyed our room and stay at Honua Kai. The condo was nice and it was nice that mostly everything was supplied for us (dishes, pans, bowls, toiletries, towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, napkins, paper towels, etc.). KBM Hawaii provided all the necessary info/service that we needed to have a good and uneventful vacation. We will definitely be back and use KBM Hawaii/VRBO.

Loved it

Had a wonderful time. The only negative is lack of parking. Spent time looking for places to park then walking back to the condo on a road that was not safe to walk in due to cars and no area to get of the road. They tell you that you can use the valet workers but then you need to tip and you are already paying $15 a day to park so it becomes a hassle. Regardless this company has been great to work with. We are returning customers because of that,

Perfect place.

We have stayed at Hona Kai twice in the last 5 years, and are never disappointed. The condo had beautiful views and was meticulously taken care of. Gorgeous gardens and lobby areas as you arrive. Our only advice- if you drink coffee-Bring coffee filters- they arent provided.

Absolutely Amazing!

Property is perfect. Every amenity you need onsite. Dukes restaurant a plus. Our room was huge and a lovely ocean view. I would book it over and over again. Already thinking about planning a girls trip in 2 months.

Nice condo and resort

The condo was nicely appointed and very roomy. The resort was also very pretty and well taken care of. Our week in Maui was spent sight seeing so the condo was more of a base of operations to sleep and get ready for the day. For that, the condo certainly served it's purpose. On the downside, we found the bed in the room with the single king-bed to be very uncomfortable with ill-fitting sheets that failed to stay in place. The room with the 2-king size beds were much more comfortable. I was also expecting the beach in front of the resort to have more depth but I was told that it had eroded away over the years due to storms.... still functional but I guess I was expecting more. I did go snorkeling one morning and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. All in all, the resort is very nice especially for families with small kids and I would have no qualms recommending it to others.

First time Maui

Everything was perfect. The unit and resort was upscale. The staff at the resort was attentive and very gracious. KBM standards are very high. All our needs were met. Will definitely return.

Stayed in 209. Very nice view. Had everything we needed. Full kitchen, pots/pans, utensils, W/D, towels Bonus: beach towels, 2 beach chairs a beach umbrella and cooler!

Beautiful spacious unit, great location.

Lovely property, unit & beach setting, north of all the other Kaanapali resorts so less crowded. Carpet needs cleaning & instructing guests to empty their own trash upon departure when we're paying a $225 cleaning fee is just downright absurd! Skillet provided but no simple pot to boil eggs. Tons of children packing the pools. Lastly, a reminder to leave leftover food for the housekeeper, really???
