The location of this condo on the property is 5 star! We loved sitting on the lanai with our morning coffee with view of the ocean and Molokai. While here we saw whales right off shore as well as turtles. Unfortunately- we also saw some Maui life forms of the creepy crawly type in the condo- they need to resolve the cockroach problem. There were traps all over the condo but they were not effective. This condo could definitely be 5 star with a little TLC - others that we have stayed in that chose to stock little things they know travelers need- felt more welcoming (chairs are common in other condos) I donated a nice beach umbrella and a new salt and pepper for the kitchen)

Sliding glass doors to the lawn/beach area were extremely hard to open indicating the tracks had not been cleaned for some time. Master bathroom sink would back-up, indicating drain needs to be cleaned out. Towel rack in master bath coming out of the wall. Air vents on the doors containing air conditioning unit/storage room were full of solid dust/debris that my wife had to vacuum (I had to empty the full canister before she could do this). Oh yes, killed 3 cockroaches the first day in the kitchen area. Needless to say, if this ground unit did not have great access to the beach, pool area, I would not have rented unit.

The location is amazing. Steps from the pool, steps from the beach, and although on the ground floor, there was very little noise. Had a little trouble with the icemaker, and the owner’s representative remedied the situation immediately. Will definitely stay here again! I have been on Maui many times, and this was the best.

Place was cleaned and stocked. A/C work great. Love the convenience of the pool and Bar & Grill right there. If I had any complaint it would be that both tubs were very slippery.

So Close to the Icean

I absolutely love the property. The ground level was literally steps away from the ocean and the pool.There was however, no gym access included. It was an additional charge and there was no ice machine, but you were able to buy a bag of ice across the street at the grocery store I would totally stay here again

Great Location!

This room was perfect for our family vacation! Right next to the pool and close access to the beach!! We saw turtles, monk seals and a ton of fish right on the beach at the hotel. My 11 year old son rented a fishing pole from the shop at the hotel and caught a bunch of fish right behind the resort. We had a great time and would totally stay here again!

Location was 4 stars, close to beach,pool and restaurant. I condos ac was making a loud noise and was fixed the day before we left,also several things needed fixed.

We enjoyed our first floor condo near the pool and ocean. We saw a whale breach from the couch while drinking coffee. Coming and going from the lawn was perfect.

Great Condo

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo! Having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was great for our family of 4. The twin beds are great for our kids who don’t love sharing a bed. The condo was spacious and clean! The resort was very nice! The communication was fantastic. We highly recommend staying here!

Ground floor, close to pool, restaurant and the ocean! Would stay at this property again! Older property, but we were there to be outside!Owners respond quickly. Close to grocery store and restaurants. Walking distance!

Great Location! Just steps to the beach

This is a great ground floor unit just steps to the beach, pool, and everything Kaanapali Shores has to offer. Unit was clean. Owner was responsive. We will book again if it's available on our next trip to Maui.

Highly recommend!

We were very pleased with our stay. The condo was very nice, very clean, we loved how close we were to the ocean, the pool, restaurant and hot tub. The boardwalk was a very short walk from the grounds. Dukes restaurant was a short walk on the boardwalk, sit outside for a meal and watch for whales. I would definitely stay in this unit again. Simone was very responsive.

Ashton Kaanapali Shores

Overall a good stay (right before the fires) however the furnishings are very dated. The kitchen was lacking some needed utensils (ex. pizza cutter, kitchen scissors, etc.). The living room furniture needs an overhaul! The laundry closet door was very difficult to open/close and came off the tracks often. The location was excellent and it was so nice to sit with a cup of coffee and look out over the beautiful blue ocean. It would be nice to be able to lock the patio door when entering/leaving, instead of having to walk around the building.

Great Location, Beautiful Resort - Ok Condo

We too were very happy with the location. Pools are great, and easily accessible beach is steps away and the sunset view are breathtaking. We were really happy with the beach supplies that were present in the condo chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc as well as the baby supplies, travel crib, baby chair, bathtub, all were lifesavers. The hotel itself is very well maintained and clean. The live music was also a hit and was so nice to hear from our backyard @ night. I really wanted to give the space five stars, but I've been to Maui multiple times and stayed at various locations around the island so I feel obligated to express a few peeves about the property/condo. The facility is VERY particular about who is staying the hotel side of the building versus who is staying in the condo side of the building I requested a map of hotel and they wouldn't give me one because I wasn't staying in the hotel side. Be forewarned the grills are in an extremely awkward and honestly difficult and inconvenient location to get to with a very small stone path walkway in and out. I agree with other comments that this particular condo is outdated. It was clean (enough) aside from a very noticeable stain on very uncomfortable pull out bed. Lastly, a minor inconvenience but we could not make the TV work. It did not work the entire time we were there, I tried everything spent ample time on YouTube and googling trying to fix it, notified the condo owner and housekeeper. It never got fixed.

Great property

The location and property are great. The condo is dated, but it really does not affect the comfort of the place. It was equipped with some beach stuff, including beach chairs, but they were old and one was broken. There is a booth on site for beach supply rental… chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards etc. The bar and food on site was good and reasonably priced. The pools are very nice, seating can be difficult at times at the main pool. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for ease of use (1st floor), location (on beach, across from pool/bar/food) and comfort. This will be the 1st place I look up if we return to Maui.

Location was awesome. Steps away from beach, pool n restaurant. Resort was perfect! Bonus was the snorkeling right off our beach was a good a anywhere including the molokini crater.
