“This lodge is a very good local experience. Although the lodge needs more attention to get it to excellence, they are VERY friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious - needs a little re-design, but overall good. The restaurant is set and neat, food not restaurant level, but if you are happy with a quick meal made by the manager/driver/cook/handyman, all good. “There are two Kakwele Lodges. The one we stayed at was further from the airport in a back street of Lusaka, about a 20 minute drive. We were charged $15 for each of the 4 journeys to and from the airport, which I considered to be excessive. The room at the lodge was adequate, but a little cramped (especially the shower). “Sam the general Manager is very helpful and goes out of his way to assist you whenever he can. The staff are very friendly and give you the feeling that they are to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible nothing seems to be to much trouble. The best of being self catering but with all the facilities that you would get in a hotel ie meals cooked to order plus plus. The only item that is missing for me was that there was no gym and i am an exercise fanatic.”

Example: I was asked if I wanted my rental car washed, but I didn't feel that I needed that, so I said "no, thank you".
