Cloud 9, Hawaiian Forest Retreat Get away from it all, but close to everything.

This custom crafted and decorated home is located on 6.5 acres in the unique Hawaiian cloud forest. At this elevation of 2700 feet, mornings are sunny and cool. We feed the birds attracting a flock of white cockatoos, finches, pheasant and cardinals. The pond and forest attract more bird species as well. Afternoons may see fog or rain develop, then clearing skies for extraordinary sunsets. Night skies are packed with stars. Peaceful and quiet location away from the tourist crowds and heat of the coast, but only 15 minutes to airport, town and beaches.
This is a unique environment found in only a few places in the world. A cloud forest captures much of its water needs from the fog that develops several days a week. Large native Hawaiian trees and giant ferns cover the land. This creates an almost unworldly effect. Guests have said it’s like living in a movie.
Sip your morning coffee on the sunny front patio as the cockatoos come and go just a couple feet above your head. A hiking trail begins just at the foot of the driveway and takes you into the state forest land that abuts the property. The living room has 8 foot tall sliding doors that pocket into the wall for access to the covered lanai. If you want to unplug from your stress and enjoy nature, this is the place for you. The deck faces the famous Kona sunsets. Perfect for unwinding at the end of a day touring the island. All bedrooms have their own baths as well as their own private deck.
The special tranquility of the property can’t be captured in words or pictures. It is spectacular. At this altitude, the temperatures are 15 degrees cooler than the coast, so nights are perfect for open windows and fresh air sleeping
For larger groups, there is also a two bedroom apt with separate entrance (and connections staircase, below the house, and a one bedroom treehouse cabin that share the property. They can be rented together for a total of 6 bedrooms.. Each of the three units are situated to have their own privacy.
