“Host was lovely and welcoming on our arrival, house was very clean and had all the facilities we needed for an overnight stay while cycling the Shimanani Kaido trail. Because of the holidays, there was not much open for dinner nearby, but we were notified in advance so that we could get dinner groceries on our way in.”

“Wakka was perfect - I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was so kind & helpful, the room was cozy & very comfortable, the location was great, and the food was delicious. I cannot think of anything to be done better; it was truly a fantastic stay!”

“全体的に清潔感があり、スタッフの方ともスムーズにやり取りができました。 施設設備としては日本の雰囲気がある引き戸ふすまが中心で見た目は良いのですが、引き戸が重くてうるさく、部屋も引き戸なので音がとてもうるさいです。 接触面に蝋を塗るなど改善するか、部屋は開戸になるとだいぶ改善されると思います。 他の宿泊者がいる場合、 特に夜間は施設側は隣の建物を案内してくれていますが、運が悪いとうるさい顧客の声が自分の部屋にまで丸聞こえなので寝れないです。 ”

“Such a quaint and charming place! The hotel reflects traditional Japanese architecture and decor. Very delicious Japanese breakfast. Extremely satisfied!! Close to bunny island too! The hotel staff helped us get a taxi to get to the bunny island dock.”

“As much as I'd like to recommend staying here on your trip to bunny island, I cannot. The host did provide details for self check-in, but the property is in various states of disrepair. The AC is left off during the summer, so when we entered, it was hot and humid. The bathroom was left off as well and had accumulated mold. It smelled atrocious to the point we were pretty sure it would be a hazard to use it. I don't expect to incur any penalties, but the host also had many fee addendums...

“The room light was not as bright as I expect, other aspects were as expected property-wise. The staff was professional and welcoming, they agreed to keep my two luggages before check-in time though they were truly heavy, and also brought them to the reserved room in advance.”

“This was our (family of four age 9 and 11 kids) first Ryokan experience. It was incredible. We loved the authentic Japanese feel. It was an adventure getting there on a boat and we rented bikes next door for a beautiful all day ride. It’s a great spot to ride from in the middle of the Kaido. If you want a traditional, relaxing stay—book this! We hope to return. (We did 2 rooms with 2 people each because the bedrooms are smallish.)”
