Avoid thsi hotel.

There was no hotel nemed Holiday house, because they have changed name as Ancient Center...and it’s difficult to find with old name. Its bad when you travel with wife and luggage. Only good thing is good testy breakfast.:) no wifi in room.

First Night in Kathmandu

Had a fine stay with the Holiday Hotel House in Kathmandu. The wi-fi was strong, indoor bathroom with hot water, and easy check-in. Nice, no frills place for a quick stay in Kathmandu.

No room available as advertised

I got to the hotel after a long hike and motorbike ride only to be told they had no room available. However they offered an alternative in a substandard hotel for the same price and I questioned why, his explanation was that Expedia only paid $16 instead of $21 I paid. After an hour and a half, I was was offered a refund of $14 or settle with the substandard room and service. I'm very disappointed in both Expedia and the holiday for false advertising and will like to demand an explanation.

Thnx to mngment & whole holiday house hotl family

We went there a week ago and we're still thinking about it. The place was very convenient and the hotel clean and incredibly peaceful. The staff were very friendly and food was good. Kathmandu can be a bit overwhelming but the hotel offers a nice environment close to supermarkets, travel agencies, shops and restaurants.

Good quality hotel near to all the shops

Good quality hotel very friendly hotel staff that can sort out tours a very reasonable prices with good drivers and vehicles. Hotel accommodation is very cheap and good for what you have paid for near to shops and facilities.

OK hotel, good staff.

This is an old, and old-fashioned hotel. The staff is pleasant and honest. There is hot water, the TV works, the bed is comfortable. Lighting is limited, and the bathroom is minimal. For the price, it is OK.

Worst hotel and Greedy Manager

Very bad hotel wont recommend to any traveller. Greedy manager and criminal people own this hotel. The manager stole our money and locked us in a room, later we escaped with the help of police. Book any other hotel in kathmandu except this.

not too bad hotel to stay

Good location as we are close to the Garden of Dream n the Palace, we can shop n go to nice garden cafe n bar. The breakfast is the same every day so this need improvement. The first to second floor is noisy so the hotel need to do some noise management. The hotel can arrange transport for you to go airport. They should also drawn a map to locate hotel n places of interest .

Ok hotel in the center of Thamel

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. My room was decent, clean and comfortable. However the beds were never made when I would come back in the evenings. Breackfast was good but the service was terrible. I had to repeat myself 3 times every morning to get what I had asked for and most of the time they would forget something when we would only be 5 people in total having breackfast. I would still recommend this hotel but some changes have to be made especially regarding breackfast service.

Room condition was as shown on the photos but not as described. Free toiletries only limited to 1 bar of soap eventhough I've booked for 2 person. Zero response on email requesting airport pick up service. Hotel located right next to a pub, remember to bring ur own ear plug if you wish to have a good sleep. Nothing much to complain with this price, but there're plenty of choices out there...

Central Hotel

This is a great low cost hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Unfortunately there is a nightclub next door (in fact right through the wall from my bed) which played the same 10 song playlist into the early hours of the morning. For this reason alone I will not stay at this hotel again. I need more than 4 hours sleep a night. A shame really as the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff more than helpful.

The hotel is in the center of Thamel and right next to a nightclub. There is bery loud music until 3am and its impossible to sleep. At all the hotel/rooms are very clairaudient which means you can people hear talking, working etc. the whole day/night. The owner tried to help us he offert different rooms to us, but there is no difference between them. The night guard was rude when we complain about the situation. After two nights we checked out before the regular check out day. No money refund. The rooms are a little bit old and not with a high standard. The towel (just one for two people) was not clean also. Just go there if you like party all night long and don't need a relaxed stay with some comfort.

Hotel is okay ~

Hotel Infrastructure is okay, but the neighbourhood is somewhat shady. Other than that, don't book bus tickets or anything else through the hotel, they charge you extra.

The photos does not represent the rooms correctly. We booked a room with 4 beds. It was not properly cleaned, 2 round tables in the room were dirty. Towels were not clean too, we used our own towels. The overall condition of the room was below average to average. Do not expect what you might see in the photos.

Nice hotel in Thamel

We stayed at Hotel Holiday House for 3 nights during our recent hiking trip to Nepal (1 on arrival, 2 more at the end of the trip). The hotel is nicely located in Thamel, which is where most of the foreigners stay and probably the most happening area in Kathmandu, making it very convenient. Our 3 person bedroom is clean and spacious, with air condition/ heating, hot shower, free wifi, and a TV with lots of channels. Toiletries are a bit basic (only soap and toilet paper) but overall we feel it's very good and a luxury after the basic tea houses during trekking. Breakfast is provided and cooked to order. The hotel is a bit difficult to find as it's nestled in a small side street with no banner/notices on the main street. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the outside street, it's actually quite quiet and calm in the hotel. I personally feel that it's a very good place to stay while in Kathmandu.

Best hotel, Great stay, Very good location

Location of the hotel is great, staffs are very kind and helpful especially front desk staff. The breakfast buffet is delicious. Rooms are very clean and big. The bathroom is modern and hot shower is very good. Highly recommended!!!
