“We loved our stay at Kehena house! We were greeted by Stephen when we arrived and given a quick tour. They were hosting a Pride potluck that day and he kindly invited us to come eat and join in as guests of the house. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt safe to be ourselves. “It is a very beautiful setting and the grounds are extremely lovely cultivated Hawaiian gardens. We saw a wild pig the first day we were there with her two little babies. Our hut was decorated in a Chinese theme and a ceramic dragon overlooked our room keeping us safe at night. The room is a little aged and a few things are rusty from the sea air, which I'm assuming is unavoidable due to how close it is to the ocean. It is slightly rustic accommodations, meaning there is window with screens...

“The staff was so friendly. There were lots of animals: peacocks, cats, frogs, geese. We loved it! We booked it to be closer to Volcanoes National Park, without realizing there was no road that cuts across. We had to go amidst to Hilo in order to go back down to the Volcanoes, so it wasn't the most convenient, but we loved the vibe!”
