Beautiful and Quiet Maine Retreat
We had a wonderful time for our winter holiday at Rock and Jen's cabin. The owners were so communicative during our booking and travel to the area, especially since there had been winter weather concerns. Everything at their cabin was just as listed and we found everything we needed for our stay. This cabin is in such a quiet and beautiful spot near the lake, it made for the perfect retreat with our kids. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it for anyone for a lovely stay in Maine!

Perfect retreat
My family spent a week at this beautiful cabin. It was tucked away in the woods but close to town and activities. We enjoyed the lake by canoe and kayaks that were provided. It was so peaceful. The cabin itself was clean and well stocked with extra blankets, sheets and towels. Although we didn’t need them, I noticed a toddler bed, high chair and and extra mattress. The screened in porch was a great place to spend the evening. We will definitely come back again!!

Cabin
Nice cabin for cooler weather. The lake is about a half mile away but it is beautiful. The small air conditioner in the bedroom was noisy and didn't cool down the cabin. Luckily the weather changed and it was more comfortable after a couple of days.

We apologize for the AC, it just failed prior to your stay. We did install a new Midea 5000 BTU directly after in the 1st floor bedroom. Again, our apologies. Rock (and Jenn)

Log Cabin near peaceful pond
Serene setting - in the woods but part of a community of owners. The shared access to David Pond is beautiful, a short drive or walk away. We sat there and read and drew the gorgeous setting, listening for the loons. It felt like we had it all to ourselves! The cabin is well-equipped, comfortable and we slept well. Don’t miss the new Scapes Restaurant in Mt. Vernon (in same location as the Old Post office Cafe) and the Apple Shed in Kent Hills for soups, baked goods etc. a very calming place and setting a bit away from the Belgrade Lakes scene. We loved our summer weeklong stay.

What a wonderful place! This cozy cabin in the woods is incredibly peaceful and serene. The hosts are helpful and kind and have thought of so many little things to make the stay complete…from stabilizers for your shoes on the ice to dog bowls for your pup. Thank you for a great stay!

Wonderful cozy cabin
We loved every minute of our stay at Rock and Jenn's log cabin. The cabin had everything we needed - fully stocked kitchen even with spices/misc pantry items. Any cooking items we needed (pans/pots/kettle/even a cheese grater & cucumber peeler) were all found easily. My husband especially appreciated the french press for coffee as that is how he prefers to brew his coffee (there was a regular coffee maker and a Nespresso available too). The shower has great water pressure and stayed hot even with back to back showers. The propane stove was nice to gaze at the flames and feel the warmth yet really easy to use with just a thermostat. The property is so peaceful - especially since we lucked out and had snow during our visit! We communicated with Rock regarding the snow and the plow showed up quickly to make sure we could get up and down the driveway safely. We ventured out and had lots of fun skiing and tubing at Black Mountain of Maine. Snowshoeing at the Quarry Road Trails (waterfront trail) was absolutely beautiful - and a good workout! Favorite restaurant of the trip was "Salt & Pepper and sugar too" in Wilton - varied menu with items to please meat eaters and vegans. The dessert specials were also fantastic! We also enjoyed dinner at "Tavern on the Hill 305" in Winthrop as well as potato soup + shepherd's pie from Apple Shed Kitchen and Bakery (to heat up back at the cabin). Our last day included a visit to "Freckle Salvage" which is a great store in Winthrop - they have antiques as well as new items as well as hand-made items - a really special place and large enough to be worth the stop! We highly recommend this cozy cabin in Maine - we enjoyed the winter season but it seems it would be equally wonderful in the warmer months. Thank you Rock and Jenn!

Fall Weekend
This log home was perfect! Super clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly think of. I spent a fall weekend away with my 3 daughters and we had a fabulous time. We canoed, kayaked, visited the cute town of Hallowell, watched spooky movies, cooked, hiked and laughed a lot. It was simply perfect!

Cozy and Quiet
We stayed here to get away from people, which was perfect! The cabin had everything we needed and more. Quiet trails to the pond within walking distance. We also loved going to the zoo which was SUPER close and well worth the visit. :)

It's hard to get much more peaceful
My wife and I have used VRBO (and one of it's competitors) for stays all over the country, and this was by far the most accurate and well appointed stays we've ever had. Communication with Rock & Jenn was spot on, the cabin was clean, comfortable, and had all the little things you may have forgotten to bring with or pick up at the local store. The lake was so quiet and serene it almost seemed unreal. We will be back for sure!

Week in the Woods
We were looking for a relaxing retreat and this cabin fit the bill. Very homey, clean, and nice layout for a family. Lake was beautiful as well! Definitely would come again!

This home was just what we'd hoped, based on all the other reviews. We were very happy once we got there, and had a great weekend. The home was very well stocked...probably the most stocked rental property I've been to. Very clean and tidy! The lake is beautiful and we had a very relaxing paddleboard around it. If we are in the area again, we surely will return!

Our Third Trip

Beautiful Cabin
I really enjoyed are stay. The cabin was well furnished with all the amenities you could possibly need. Very short walk to the lake. If I had one suggestion it would be to spray for mosquitoes. But other then that it was awesome.

Family vacation
The home was welcoming. Very clean and cozy. Fully stocked kitchen with all kitchen supplies and utensils. We enjoyed the electric fireplace and the fire pit. Had a great time kayaking ( just had to get rain boots , easy fix Walmart). The drive to Portland was so worth it , delicious food and fresh seafood to take home. It was a great getaway for my family. The home owner was always a call or email away. Thank you.

Perfect getaway
We rented the house for part of school vacation week and it was everything we were hoping for... quiet, relaxing, and fun for the kids. The cabin is beautiful, was very clean and it had all the amenities and more. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck during the day (when the sun was out) and in front of the stove at night. We explored the area a few times and enjoyed the beauty of Maine in the winter. My kids loved the treats at the Apple Shed Bakery and my husband and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere of The Woodshed in Manchester. We will definitely visit again!

Couldn't have been better
We spent a long weekend in February at this cabin and had a wonderful time! The cabin is very clean, beautifully decorated and has everything one might need for a good time. Lots of kitchen supplies including a huge pan and pot and plenty of games and books. We were super impressed with how responsive Rock and Jenn were with responding to messages. We drove up during a snow storm and Rock made sure that his plow guy came to the cabin. He even followed up the next day to make sure all was OK. A great host all around. It was nice to arrive at the cabin with lights on and the heat turned up! Highly recommend. Oh and the beds were very comfy!

Special Place in a Tranquil, Wild Location
Rock and Jenn are wonderful hosts. It’s clear they want their guests to enjoy the accommodations and everything the area has to offer. A few things that stood out to me (besides the cleanliness and charm) include fully equipped kitchen with good quality appliances, cabinetry and countertops. It’s a joy to cook in. Dishware is newish and of high quality. Same with the linens. The finished basement is a great bonus room so to speak. Large TV and Roku setup separate from the cozy upstairs (main floor). Bathrooms are spacious and clean. Loved the loft bedroom with a mini living room. Comfy bed. The gated wrap around deck is perfect for a dog that likes to be unleashed and outside. Overall well appointed with local touches. The house sits on a very private parcel of forested land. Lots of trails nearby. We will be back!

Perfect Thanksgiving Retreat!
The cabin was beautiful nestled back in the woods. The scenery is amazing and it was the perfect spot to spend Thanksgiving with the family. The hosts were responsive and friendly. Make sure to check out WillowsAwake Winery! It’s only about 30 min away and really cozy.

Great cabin in the woods
My husband, son and I had a wonderful stay for our first trip to Maine. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, had everything we needed and communication was very easy. We really enjoyed use of the kayaks on David’s Pond! The pond is beautiful, clean and very peaceful. We were able to take several day trips to the surrounding areas from the cabin as well and found lots of great places to eat. Plus we were able to bring our dog and the cabin had lots of items to accommodate her. That was such a nice bonus! I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to friends and we’d be happy to rent from Rock and Jenn in the future.

Very relaxing escape!
I was looking for a relaxing escape for my fathers birthday week after a very tough year. We were even able to fly my brother in from California (after 2 years of not seeing him!), so was very excited to find this listing! The first thing I noticed was how clean the place was. Both my father and I are immunocompromised and felt extremely safe here. It was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed grilling out every night, kayaking, fishing, swimming, the wildlife zoo, puzzles, golfing, and just relaxing. The sitting area at the pond is on the smaller side, but VERY few people to share it with. We saw one other family the entire week. The pond water was perfect and super refreshing compared to the more populated lakes we are used to frequenting down here in Portland. Rocks communication was great- he was always very quick to respond. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Nicole

Breathtaking and relaxing
Celebrated our anniversary with our soon to be 3 year old. This home and area forces you to relax and brings you back to earth in a heartbeat. There are lots of great child friendly hikes near by that my daughter loved. Rock and Jenn are so welcoming and responded quick with any questions we had. I highly recommend. This will not be our only visit!

Peaceful Retreat
We loved our relaxing stay at Rock and Jenn's cabin. The furnishings were comfortable making it feel like we were staying at a relative's home for the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed for prepping all of our meals. We enjoyed lots of outdoor time exploring nearby hiking trails (Torsey Pond was especially nice) and chilling by the fire pit. The stars were amazing to view and we even heard loon and owl calls nearby at night! Our dog was very appreciative of the tennis balls left outside for him as well as the dog bowls inside. Very thoughtful! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

An Amazing Winter Getaway
I cannot say enough about how wonderful and cozy this cabin was. This was the perfect place to get away from it all and de-stress for a week. There's a number of recreational opportunities in the area, but you'll be hard pressed to tear yourself away from sitting in front of the wood stove with a good book. Rock and Jenn were absolutely wonderful hosts and the cabin came so well prepared and so beautifully decorated. We had a couple days of snowfall during our stay and it was just magical. In fact, we loved it so much, Rock and Jenn were kind enough to let us extend our reservation! We would absolutely stay here again hands down.

Ideal winter getaway
My family rented this home for 3 days in January. Normally this time of year we try to head somewhere warm, but due to Covid we were restricted to Maine locals. We’ve often driven through the Mt Vernon area and enjoyed its picturesque views, and so when we saw this posting we jumped on it. Rock and Jenn’s home has everything we could want for a cozy getaway. The hot tub was a big plus. My son loved the bunk bed and game collection. We could easily see ourselves staying much longer. We are so happy we got to explore this area and get some much needed R & R.

We had a great time at the cabin, it snowed while we were there and was so nice to sit by the fire and watch the snow fall. We hiked a few short trails nearby, but definitely bring food to cook as restaurants are a bit far away.

Log Cabin in Winter Wonderland
Everything was perfect about this cozy log cabin. The pictures serve no justice to display the ambiance of this home. Especially if you’re as lucky as I was to get a nice snowy day which really solidified the experience. 5 star Cabin. A+ Service and accommodation. Great time away!! Book now!
My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our mini getaway. The seclusion and relaxation that we enjoyed were incomparable. This was our first time using Vrbo and also our first time away together. The reservation process was quick and efficient. Rock and Jenn were absolutely amazing hosts. The house has just about everything you’ll need and more. We were provided with amenities we didn’t even know we’d need! Haha! We woke up to a beautiful view each morning. The way the sunlight shined through the windows was beautiful. The rustic yet modern feel of the home made us feel cozy and safe. Meal prep was a piece of cake with the spacious kitchen. The house was fully insulated so that was a plus because the temperature outside plummeted at night. In the evenings, we enjoyed use of the hot tub on the closed-in porch. I’m so glad that I found this beautiful home away from home. I’ll definitely be making the trip again. Thank you Rock and Jenn for all of your hospitality. Peaceful Retreat
Perfect describes this property. My girlfriends and I were looking for a quiet retreat and that is exactly what we got. The property was fully stocked with the basics and we found the rental to be spotless upon arrival. Keyless entry allowed us easy access and we found several typed instruction sheets that explained everything we could possibly need to know. We enjoyed local hiking, exploring and evenings spent relaxing by the fire. Communication with owner was great and I can't wait to return. I highly recommend this rental.
