From here, you can also wander 400 metres over to the River Greta to stroll along its beautiful banks and perhaps embark upon the 3-mile trail along a former railway line to Threlkeld. In the other direction, venture 0.5 miles down to Derwentwater to picnic on the shores or tackle the 10-mile circular route all the way round the lake. Strike out on exciting walks and climbs up the nearby fells too, or travel to see some of the other lakes. Ullswater and the Aira Force waterfall are 13.5 miles from the apartment, for example.


Let yourselves into the main building via the shared entrance and climb the stairs to your private quarters. Slide off your walking boots and make your way on into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can pause for a moment to look out over charming Keswick and catch glimpses of the green fells beyond. Put the kettle on for a cup of tea to enjoy with the freshly baked Grasmere gingerbread that you sourced on your last trip out. Relax at the table by the window and chat about your day. The chic kitchen corner has been equipped with everything you are likely to need to help you cater for yourselves when not dining out during your break. After your meals, retreat to the comfort of the soft seating to stream your current boxset on the Smart TV. When night falls, your beautiful king-size bedroom awaits. Rest your head on your plump pillows here, then savour a slow following morning with a cup of tea in bed in front of your second Smart TV.
