Lake View Cottage - an apartment that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

  • The lounge has been renovated to an exceptional standard, and includes a quality suite with two seater sofa and two chairs, an electric feature fire place, TV, DVD, and CD player, and a dining table with four chairs.

    The stunning new kitchen is sure to make cooking a pleasure and comes fully fitted with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, a microwave, a washing machine, tumble dryer and a selection of cookbooks. There is plenty of worktop and cupboard space.

    Directly off the kitchen is a large outside patio deck with seating, overlooking the fabulous gardens and the breathtaking views beyond.

    The master bedroom with fitted cupboards, has a king sized bed and en-suite shower room with a WC, basin and heated towel rail and the second bedroom also has a double bed together with fitted cupboards. The bedrooms are dressed with luxury linen and towels.

    The main bathroom has a large bath with shower, a WC, basin and heated towel rail.

    The property benefits from extensive shared landscaped gardens including a pond. There are designated storage racks for bicycles at the back of the property together with a purpose built covered communal Barbeque area. Ample parking off road at the front of the main building is also available.

    The shores of Lake Bassenthwaite can also be accessed via a signposted short walk from the rear of the property. Free unlimited Wi-Fi throughout.

A lovely spacious cottage in a perfect location

The cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed. I used it as a base for walking and the location is ideal for the Northern and North Western Fells. A real gem.

Great location and great cottage just outside Keswick

Lake View Cottage is easy to locate with plenty of parking spaces with easy access to the North Lakes' attractions as well as the coast. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well designed and with all the necessary, easy to use, self catering appliances. The views of Skidaw and Blencathra from the lounge, kitchen and private patio are outstanding. The staff at Keswick Cottages were also very approachable, friendly and helpful. We would definitely use Keswick Cottages and Lake View Cottage again.

Keswick Cottages, Lake View Cottage

Keswick Cottages has a range of high class properties in its portfolio. Being a smaller, local company they are able to provide excellent, personal service and support and have a detailed knowledge of the area. You cannot get this from larger agencies. Our stay at Lake View Cottage was very good. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped and in an ideal yet quiet location for accessing all of the north Lake District and coast.

Good value

Accommodation clean and tidy. Keys a little hard to find at the beginning for entry as there are many 'front porches'. In a nice area with mountain views and easy access to Whinlatter and Keswick and surrounding area.

Brilliant

Brilliant cottage, location was excellent on the edge of the whinlatter forest .The cottage had plenty of room, it was very clean , warm & comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped.really nice modern bathrooms It was made extra special with the Christmas tree & extras left by the staff. Thank you we had a wonderful stay & will definitely book again. Really helpful team.

Lovely views and comfortable stay

This place is in a lovely location and is a decent size property with plenty of parking. The beds are really comfy and showers nice and powerful. Lovely soft sheets and towels. The kitchen is well equipped. Great views from front and back of the property too. It would be even better if it had a more comfortable sofa, bigger TV and decent size dining room table (it's tiny for 4 people).

A lovely apartment in a beautiful part of the world

The cottage was part of a large former hotel and it has been converted very sympathetically. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable - we had a lot of space for the two of us (and the dog!) One of my favourite things was the picture window in the lounge, with beautiful views across the countryside down to the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the area was quiet. We did have a couple of issues with the boiler going off and the kettle not working but these were dealt with quickly. Beside that, everything was great and we had a wonderful time - shame about the rain!

Exceptional cottage with great views

Lake View Cottage is a brilliant place to stay. Clean, comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. The balcony with its superb view of the mountains and lovely garden furniture is a great place to spend time eating and drinking. Plenty of outside space with shared large garden and ample parking . Good access to walking from the door and just a short drive into Keswick.

Recent Stay at LakeView

We last stayed at Lake View in 2018, since then it has had a substantial make over and is much improved. A very warm and comfortable cottage with everything you could need. Well equipped new kitchen, lovely en-suite and main bathroom and lounge with spectacular views! Can't wait to return. Thanks to everyone at Keswick Cottages you do a great job!

Relaxing stay

Great location - very quiet, beautiful surroundings. Plenty of parking space. Spacious apartment, comfortable, nicely decorated. Kitchen well equipped. Good heating throughout. Cons: - no cutlery in the kitchen! - the entrance is towards the back across a gravelled stretch and up a set of stairs; so not quite accessible if someone has restricted mobility

Lake view cottage is a loving place to stay , very clean well maintained very comfortable , great location not far from Keswick or Cockermouth, We had a issue with the boiler not working rang Keswick cottage emergency number waited for someone to ring us back but 4 hour later no one did , with not having hot water or heating we thought someone would ring us back that night or the next day but no one did ,

A gem of a cottage in a lovely location

The cottage is in a very quiet beautiful setting with well manicured lawns very scenic views and ample parking spaces. The cottage is very spacious with a large lounge and kitchen which has an adjoining outdoor dining area. Every utensil required is available Two double bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Two lovely bathrooms with superb showers and quality bath towels. I don’t normally give such high praise but our stay was faultless. My partner and I will definitely be returning here in the future.

Perfect Getaway

We had the most incredible stay at this beautiful property in the Lake District. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and thoughtfully prepared. The location was perfect: peaceful and secluded, but only a short drive (or a long, scenic walk!) to some amazing views, great pubs, and some fantastic hiking trails. We loved being able to set off on foot and find hidden tarns and breathtaking views without even needing the car.Inside, everything was spotlessly clean and incredibly well-equipped . The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in, and waking up to the mist rolling over the hills was pure magic.Our host was fantastic — friendly, quick to communicate.If you're looking for a peaceful, charming base to explore the Lake District, you honestly couldn't do better. We didn’t want to leave — and we're already planning our next visit!

Lovely Cottage, but now a little over priced

We love this cottage, its the 5th time we've stayed here. However this visit there was lots of cobwebs in both bedrooms (I think it had been empty for 2 or 3 weeks). The location is great and we love the balcony. I do feel the price at over £1,000 is too high even for a peak week (the price has increased 50% in 4 years) therefore we are unlikely to rebook for next October.

Another Lovely stay at Lakeview Cottage

This is our third stay at the Cottage and the second Christmas stay. The cottage is very well appointed and waram and comfortable with everything you could need. It also has superb views throughout. We were also lucky enough to win the Christmas hamper which really got things going! thank you so much for that. One tiny niggle is the couch which has seen better days and is not comfortable especially when 90% of the holiday was unfortunately plagued by rain ha! However I would highly recommend a stay here in a lesser known but wonderfully situated Cottage/area. Also the staff at Keswick Cottages are very helpful, we had a minor power outage and we were called back and situation resolved in under an hour. Simply wonderful and really didn't want to come home x

Lovely apartment but one or two reservations

Lake view is lovely, light and airy with fine views. However there are some internal steps which are not easily visible and could do with being marked by some sort of edge strip. Similarly there are steep steps up to the front door and more steep steps into the apartment itself, which would make things difficult for the very elderly or disabled though I don’t recall seeing this mentioned in the information. The dishwasher completely baffled me and was very noisy on the one occasion I did get some action out of it!
