We were supposed to go to the Bahamas and our flights got cancelled. We switched to the keys and found this place. We weren’t sure about the location or the water, but it turned out better than we could have imagined! The location of this place is the best location in the bay! The paddle boards and kayaks were so much fun. We went to the mangrove island and on down to some really clear water. We spent hours in the kayaks and rented wetsuits right across the street. We snorkeled right off the beach and from the kayak.
There is so much life right there. My husband and our son caught over 20 fish ; lots of different kinds.
At sunrise I would go out to pray, break bread, blow my shofar and spend time with Jesus. I was blessed with dolphins and manatees swimming by; I missed the sea turtle. We saw two nurse sharks, starfish , slugs or snails, orange coral at the mangrove island, and so many types of fish.
Every day we kayaked with manatees and it was so wonderful! In looking up and down the bay in the kayak, we had the best set up for a beach area and great toys. I would have loved the water bicycle thing they had at the resort next door so maybe they could get one lol.
The house is big with plenty of room and we grilled and cooked. We met the other families staying there and it was just so wonderful! It’s like having your own private resort.
We went to Islamorada to go to Robbies marina to feed the tarpon by hand. I would totally recommend that! We saw a family of three manatees that hang out there and the tarpon feeding is wild! There are a lot of pelicans that try to steal your fish so it’s like a little wild kingdom. The water turns a different color there than in the bay.
We also went to the Everglades and the alligator farm; only 33 miles from the house. Took an airboat tour there and saw wild gators!! Amazing !!!
We did an ecotour in the mangroves and got to go in the canals and see iguanas and on the House property.
The restaurants near by are all amazing and we went to a family owned Cuban Resturant near Publix which was so yummy!!!
Not enough can be said about the experience. It truly was a blessing to our family and I’m so glad we found this place in Key Largo!
