Centrally located at Mile Post 6.5; close to restaurants and shopping, in walking distance to the Avalon Pier (.2 miles), and only 2 miles from the Wright Brothers Memorial, this grand home was originally built by a wealthy businessman as a retreat where his family could relax and experience the beauty of the unique OBX area.
This 6 bedroom home has been extensively upgraded, allowing guests to experience the charm and beauty of a classic-era Outer Banks vacation without compromising the luxuries of today's relaxing vacation lifestyle. Guests are immediately greeted by the warmth and comfort of Nags Head style architecture, which utilizes historical wood interiors in combination with numerous windows to capitalize on the views and closeness to the ocean. Whatever your relaxation pleasure, Hidden Treasure has a space with you in mind. Large bedrooms with numerous sleeping arrangements, large dining table, well equipped kitchen, den with leather furniture and large screen TV, separate sitting area, and kids den. Prefer to enjoy the outdoors? This home is situated on an oversized oceanfront lot with many options of great outdoor living spaces. The wraparound porch becomes a large oceanfront deck which extends to a separate area with a large gas grill. The large oceanfront deck has 2 large dining tables plus relaxing outdoor furniture. The 2 nd floor has a large covered oceanfront balcony
with fantastic views and great breezes. Simply enjoy an alfresco meal, absorb the ocean breezes, or nap in a hammock. A raised walkway and dune top deck put the beach right at your back door!! A complimentary early check-in (1 PM) is included. This home books quickly, so reserve early and enjoy this true "Hidden Treasure" on the Outer Banks.

The property was clean and well kept. It is dated, wood walls, wood ceiling etc., but that gave it charm. We didn't mind it. The closeness to the beach was amazing. The wraparound deck was a bonus. Our stay was very nice. One thing that needs to be updated would be some of the the cooking pots, pans. They are in bad shape and the teflon on the pans can flake off and get in the food. Other than that we will probably reserve it again. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Excellent Stay

The charming wooden house was a bit small for our group, but we moved mattresses around to grant privacy for everyone. The inside of the house reminded us older folks of the houses we rented back in the ‘80 when we were poorer but just as grateful. The short walk to the beach and/or the pier thrilled the younger generations. We hope to go back there again!
