Welcome to Flyer’s Nest — a relaxing, family-friendly vacation home located just a 9-minute walk from the beach. This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is perfectly situated near restaurants, shopping, and local attractions in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Whether you're biking along the sound, catching the sunset, or spending your day in the surf, this home is the ideal base for your Outer Banks adventure.

Summer 2025 OBX friend vacation

Perfect place to get a group together. Only 6 minute walk to the beach and within 10 minute drive to some of the greatest restaurants, buffets, mini golf, golf courses, bars, and other activities. An incredible value overall.

This is a lovely beach house stocked with everything you will need for a beach vacation. It is a two minute drive to the beach or an 8 minute walk. The highlight for our family was the nice beach gear and beach cruisers available for use. The hosts were very friendly and provided terrific communication and the home is well taken care of. The house is in a quite residential area with a few other vacation rentals nearby. It is near the main road which can be noisy, so I don't recommend it if you're a light sleeper.

Excellent For Families

All the little extra touches really enhanced our stay, board games, movies, bikes, wagon, cooler, umbrella, just to name a few. The place is clean and well cared for, and the parking near the beach made each excursion as effortless as possible. Being able to bike to the bay side and along the beautiful trails, drive 2 minutes to an excellent putt-putt course, and take in a movie in hot middle of of the day - everything was close by and reasonably priced. The Wright Brothers landmark was an important moment and a reminder that hard work and dedication can work miracles.

Great house!

This house was a great pick! The owners were so friendly and accommodating from booking through check out. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay! It is in a great location, just a few blocks or short drive to the beach and central to KDH, Kitty Hawk and Nags Head.

Clean home, close to beach!

We had a great stay last week in this clean, comfortable and fully stocked home! It is super close to everything, and even includes a parking spot right near the beach if you don’t want to walk the little bit. Great communication with the hosts, very helpful and responsive with any questions.

GREAT VALUE home with above-average amenities

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we brought our dog with us so she could enjoy the beach too. Check-in was very easy and straightforward, and the house is much bigger than the pictures made it out to be! The house was spotless and smelled nice. We are also incredibly pleased with the supplies provided by the hosts. There were a bunch of DVDs and board games for us to use, and while we normally wouldn't bother with them, we did watch a DVD and play a couple of board games during the first part of our trip when the weather was cold and rainy. We also used the beach chairs, wagon, and bikes later in the week. I only had one question for our hosts during our stay, but Cynthia replied promptly and clearly. The bed in the master bedroom was also super comfortable! Our only criticism of the house would be to add blinds or a curtain to the front door window to offer more privacy from the neighboring house. As for location, this house is in the middle of everything for driving. If you're like us and prefer to walk or bike on vacation, it's still in a great spot. You're within a half-hour walk from about 3-4 restaurants and some cool shops. If youre willing to take the bike, anything in town is within a good distance. We learned from the locals that flat tires are very common out here because of nails left behind by construction - it happened to us, so be sure to have a spare and some extra cash for a replacement! We'd love to stay here again on our next OBX trip!

Excellent house for family vacation

We had a great stay. The house was immaculately clean and was very cozy and comfortable. The owners did a wonderful job of communicating with us before and during our stay. Great location with easy access to everything. Lots of amenities provided by the owners. We would highly recommend this house!

Perfect Home Away From Home For Your Beach Getaway

We had a great stay! This home is centrally located, easy to access, extremely comfortable & cozy, and has all of the necessities for a beach day or a rainy day in. The space was spotless upon our arrival. The neighborhood is very safe and full of friendly faces. I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a great rental for a family staying 1week+…. full kitchen with a dishwasher, large living space, plenty of seating, 2 sets of washer & dryers, a grill, bikes, large deck space, outdoor shower, private beach parking, and pet friendly! The hosts were great with communication and easily accessible if we needed something. I can’t recommended this rental enough! We are already planning our next trip back! 😊

Great location!

Amazing location, right in KDH & between everything you could need/want! House was well-appointed for our family of four & pup. We loved the large island in the kitchen and how everything was on one-level, which is hard to find in beach houses. Lots of extras available here - grill, beach chairs, wagon, cornhole boards, etc. so you can pack light! Close proximity to beach & sound to “choose your own adventure.” Right across the street from the new Target if you need to stock up on anything. Communication with owner was excellent! Look forward to staying again.
