“Beautiful cabin with beautiful views of the bay (and we had a bonus of Northern Lights) We were able to take the kayaks out and we also enjoyed sitting on the dock. If we had more time we would have enjoyed sitting around the fire (we did appreciate the firewood in case we did have a fire) Everything we needed was provided for the kitchen, bath and beds, and the cabin was very clean. Check-in was very easy.The location is excellent for day trips to Sault Ste Marie, Tehquamenon and Whitefish...

“We had a fantastic stay at the Bear’s Den for Labor Day week/end 2025. The owners have done a wonderful job of making this a fantastic up north getaway in the woods. It was so peaceful and relaxing while also having all you need in terms of modern amenities. There were 7 of us plus a dog and we were all cozy and comfortable. You need to plan around the ferry for coming and going but we thought that added to the adventure and the kids loved it. Highly recommend. My parents already want to come...

“My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!”
