“The building and grounds here are absolutely beautiful. It's clearly been a wonderful place to stay at some point. Having said that, our trip was generally very disappointing. We arrived in the evening, and there were no staff at all to be seen. There was a bar open, with music playing, and no staff. A sign noted to call a mobile number for help. The first number rang out repeatedly. On a second call, a person answered and seemed confused about whether any staff remained at the hotel. Eventually...

“The location was perfect, right at the top with easy access to all of the city. It had an amazing view and was quite quaint. The service was top notch. She greeted us as we arrived and made sure we knew everything about the place and gave us help to find anything else in the city. The room was quite spacious and had an actual King size bed. “Our fist visit to Montrose. Lovely hotel which met all our needs in terms of friendliness, cleanliness, amenities and location. We had a very plentiful, tasty breakfast. Great atmosphere in the evening when there was a live band and a busy function suite. Have already recommended this hotel and this town to friends.”

“The owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and made sure you had everything you needed for breakfast and your stay. Its not a traditional hotel visit. It is more like visiting a friend at a Castle.”

“Struttura di 3 stelle ma con i prezzi di un 4 stelle. Per quello che l'hotel offre, tolta la posizione dominante sulle Angus glens, trovo che il prezzo non sia giustificato. Se si sta più di una notte non vengono fatte le pulizie in camera, non c'è un frigobar con delle boccette d'acqua nelle stanze, e se vuoi l'acqua la devi pagare a parte. Anche la colazione è davvero molto povera per quello che uno paga. Sinceramente non ci tornerei.”
