As soon as you arrive at this beautiful sound front home, you will experience the breathtaking views of the majestic Currituck Sound. This property truly offers something for everyone. Sit, swing or have a picnic on the 20' x 20' lighted Gazebo at the end of your very own private pier, or try your hand at kayaking from the private bulkheaded beach. A 200' foot Private Pier and crabbing Dock are available for those wanting to try their hand at catching some tasty Outer Banks seafood, or you can take a 6-minute walk to your ocean beach access on Mallard Drive or enjoy something close to home, swim in the Private Pool, enjoy the Outdoor Tiki Bar beside the Picnic Area, or relax in the Hot Tub on the large Screen Soundfront Porch. Cosa c’è nei dintorni?

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Family vacation

Overall, we had an amazing experience. The place was beautiful and well maintained. The only thing that was disappointing is that there wasn’t a single roll of toilet paper in the house on arrival and the bbq propane tank was completely empty. Those items seem to be left to “pay it forward”. Please consider leaving a “basic” supply of those items, especially after a 90 minute drive from Norfolk with a large family coming from Canada and the west coast. All things considered, though, we would definitely stay there again!
