Welcome to Duck, North Carolina! The most popular destination in the Outer Banks!

You'll fall in love with the Gillis home, located in the high end Sanderling Community and the beautiful ocean views. This classic oceanfront Outer Banks home features four spacious bedroom and 2 full baths. Plenty of decking with numerous picnic tables and 2 hammocks to relax and enjoy the sweet OBX sounds and breezes. There is also a relaxing oceanfront den and sound-side screen-in porch for your family's enjoyment, The community pool and and sound access are both within walking distance and your family will thank you for this lovely stay in this Sanderling Resort Community.

The Sanderling Racquet and Swim Club offers a boat ramp to launch your kayak or boat, a community pool and wading pool for the young ones, and a splendid tennis court! Tennis court fees are $25.00 per court. The Sanderling Racquet and Swim Club is open from mid-May to mid- October.

The wild mustangs of Carova are just a short drive north but you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to see them! The town of Duck has it all! Shopping, great dining, and seasonal festivals everyone will love. A short drive south will take you to the Wright Brothers Memorial- don't miss this! Along with Jockey's Ridge State Park and all the hang-gliders and kite flyers!

Property Bedding: 1 King, 1 Queen, 3 Doubles, 1 Twin

Top Level:
Large great room with vaulted ceiling, and stunning ocean views.
The living room has a large flat screen television, VCR, DVD, ceiling fan, and access to a huge oceanfront deck looking over the Atlantic Ocean.
You'll also find a book library, videos, puzzles and games and a relaxing den also featuring lovely ocean views.
The dining room has seating for 8 and access to the deck.
There is also a sound side screened in porch with deck access, a picnic table. from here you'll enjoy some wonderful sunset views.
The fully stocked kitchen will be a welcomed site! A huge refrigerator with an icemaker always makes things easier!
Lastly, a half bathroom as a great convenience!

Mid Level:
Here you'll find the main entrance to the home along with the laundry closet and a washer and dryer.
There is a bedroom with a Queen bed that has beautiful ocean views, a ceiling fan, and private deck access.
A full hall bathroom with a tub/shower combination.
The next bedroom is a Master suite with a king bed, ceiling fan, television and private deck access. The bathroom also connects to the hall and has a tub/shower combination.
There is a bedroom with two Double beds and a ceiling fan.
The fourth bedroom which has a Double bed and a Twin bed.

Ground Level:
Parking for 6 vehicles
Enclosed outside shower with changing area.

Cosa c’è nei dintorni?

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Spacious house, gorgeous beach

A well-designed house with plenty of space inside and outside. Kitchen and large den upstairs, along with sequestered reading room, half bathroom, and outdoor eating area. Downstairs are four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Outdoor grill. Ocean front: a short boardwalk over barrier dune to a lovely wide strand. We would certainly stay here again.

Amazing Location & Views!

We enjoyed a short, last-minute trip to Duck, NC and stayed at this oceanfront property. It could use some updates, but you can't beat the location and views!

Lovely Beachfront Stay

We had a great stay at this well appointed beach house. It had everything we needed and a spectacular view of the ocean from the front deck. The kids loved the wide range of games available to them to play in the evenings. The hammocks were a favorite of many of us. I will note that the property is pretty dated and the outside deck chairs have definitely seen better days. Some are starting to rot but they were still sturdy enough to sit in with no problems. Overall, we still had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Duck - Oceanfront G124 Gillis

The oceanfront location is perfect! The home is in a small neighborhood and only shares beach access with a few homes. This meant the beach was never crowded even in July's high demand season. We enjoyed the home which had a beautiful ocean view off the deck, a nice little screened in porch in the front, and a cute little area separate from the family room, hubby enjoyed sitting in. The home does need a little TLC updating, and if done, they could charge more on the rental fees. Overall we would stay there again as it's in a perfect location for the upper Outer Banks area.

Beautiful house, Excellent location

House is pretty and comfortable, excellent location. Ran into a few problems that rental company addressed fairly quickly but were entirely preventable (like house not being cleaned from previous guest when we arrived and a hammock chain breaking while in use due to extreme rust). Overall I would probably stay here again.
