Cosa c’è nei dintorni?

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. My son and I really enjoyed this spot - it’s simple but perfect for enjoying Duck and the beach. Unlike some places, there were essentials at every sink and bathroom, so we didn’t have to buy extras, and the space was clean, thoughtful, and a great location. I’d definitely visit again. Thank you!

Great place!

Very clean. Almost "on" the ocean. As the owner says in the description, it is a bit dated - it definitely gives "grandma's house" vibes, but it's very clean, has a surprisingly well-equipped kitchen, and is literally about as close to the ocean as you can get. Great location; a little short on amenities

Condo was fine-not updated but all in good working order. Televisions were very small and were not smart TVs so could not sign in to any of our streaming services (netlfix, hulu, etc). Just very very basic cable. Also TV set up perpendicular to couch so had to move couch to be able to watch. While TV watching is not primary purpose of beach vacation, it's nice to have on those rainy days and early evenings relaxing. Otherwise all was very good.
