This was an awesome location, we will definitely be back. The house had everything we needed for our crew of two families with small children. The snorkeling out of the backyard was amazing and you can swim or walk (2 min) to the well protected baby beach.

STUNNING view perfect location

This home is well appointed and 2 minutes fromsooo many restaurants and shops and plenty to do nearby so close to everything and snorkeling right out front of the home ! Perfect for a large family group! Rainbows right out of the deck!

We were visited by sea turtles almost every evening. The air conditioning was adequate in the bedrooms. The a/c in the upstairs living room could not kep up with August heat and humidity.

Poipu work and play

This is our groups second time staying at this property and it is 10 out of 10. It’s the perfect accommodation for multiple families or a large group. Several large bedrooms each with a private bathroom. The kids enjoyed the games, the pool, and all the local beaches. The property management had great communication and made our stay worry free. Mahalo! We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing sunsets and snorkeling

Excellent location and walkable to beach, restaurants and shopping. The property had amazing views, very spacious and has everything you could want. It was hard to leave this spot to look at other things around the island. Our family loved it. We were on a vacation that our adult children and spouses could come and hang out together with us.

The house was very spacious and well equipped. The location was amazing, right on the ocean, with a swimming pool, nice yard area and a large lanai. Though the location was excellent, and we loved the property, the home is starting to show it's age and could definitely use some updating. All in all it was a great home for an ocean front Hawaiian vacation.

The view & snorkeling off the beach was outstanding. House doesn’t have air conditioning. It has portable air conditioning & some splits on the wall of certain rooms. The main great room & kitchen were miserably hot. Downstairs family room had no air at all. House definitely needs updating. Ice maker was broken too!

Best VRBO Stay

This was an amazing house with lots of room. Beds were comfortable, house was clean, and they had so much kitchen stuff to use. The best part though was the outside. You were right on the water, had sea turtles come up every night, could swim in the pool or ocean. It was perfect! Will stay here again!

We had a sea turtle and seal swim up to our property the first night. Parakeets slip in the coconut trees above. Well equipped kitchen was perfect for our family and go cooked several nights. So much equipment available to use in the pool room, snorkel gear, beach, chairs, etc. everything we could want! Thanks for the relaxing week!

All Family Experience

This property is AMAZING. The location is terrific. The house is big and comfortable. We were a family group of 9 (age range from infant to senior citizen). We had plenty of space and great accommodations for our group. Lots of 'at home' meals and the kitchen is the BEST stocked I have ever seen. Loved hearing the ocean, seeing the honu resting, swimming in the sea, and 4 generations enjoying the pool together. Problem with the upstairs AC units was not handled well by prop mgmt firm. Ultimately everything was fixed.Gorgeous place gave us precious family memories.

The house is spacious and well-equipped. There are five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and plenty of room to spread out. The grandkids spent hours in the pool every day. The view is spectacular!The small beach allowed access to the ocean, where there is a small semi-protected area for swimming and snorkeling. And every evening, two or three sea turtles arrived and spent the night on our beach!We highly recommend this beautiful house!

Paradise in Kauai

We all came to Kauai to have a family holiday vacation. The house was amazing and made our trip wonderful. There were so many animals we saw just from the porch on the house-turtles, tropical fish, sharks and whales. most evenings the turtles came to bask on our little beach. The Garden island rental company was very helpful and we had a quick response time for any questions. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen had everything. I would definitely stay at this house again, Mahalo.

Great location, needs some repairs.

Great location best snorkeling we’ve experienced at Kauai. The home is in need of maintenance, two downstairs showers take 1/2 day to drain, upstairs master slider door jam needs to be replaced. Overall a great time was had by all just hate to see the home in need of so many minor repairs.

Hale Ma’ana Hou is amazing! 5 stars.

We had a fantastic stay at Hale Ma’ana Hou!!! We absolutely loved it. The beachfront location of this home is amazing! It’s literally a matter of steps to basically be on your own private beach and you have your own private pool. We had a couple issues with the washer and the air conditioner upstairs, but Brenda and Chela (from Garden Island Properties) were super responsive and had both fixed and/or replaced during our stay. The home is a bit on the older side so some things may need to be upgraded in the future. For example, some of the windows/hardware will probably need to be replaced as they were challenging to open and close. But overall, the house is really well maintained, has a spacious layout to accommodate large groups and its ocean view and location can’t be beat. We had so much fun at this home and would highly recommend staying at Hale Ma’ana Hou.

Just amazing!!

The wait was much worth it! This family holiday was supposed to happen back in 2019 but then unfortunately COVID happened. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Our stay here at Hanaa mou....( check spelling) has brought so many lasting memories to our family. The location was perfect and views were amazing!! The sunsets were absolutely just breathtaking and stunning beyond words. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed seeing the turtles on the beach every night and boogie boarding on baby beach. These will be memories she will have forever and I am beyond grateful for that. LOTS of dolphin and whale sightings right from the balcony.... (except for the times it ended up being snorklers. Hahahahah) However, the 10 foot tiger shark that was feeding in 2 feet of water right in front of the house, was a bit nervy but also quite exciting as you don't see that everyday! The kitchen was phenomenal for cooking meals. Tons of utensils and kitchen gadgets that made things so much easier. My dad and brother in law much appreciated the brand new high quality bbq and made our fresh steaks and Ahi turn out just perfectly!! Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to all our friends. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay as a family to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. The one and only suggestion to be made is to have better quality soaps in the bathrooms. When staying in such a phenomenal high end home in such a beautiful place, it's nice to feel like you're staying at a 5 star hotel. We are from Canada and if we could offer a suggestion Rocky Mountain Soap Company has amazing beautiful soaps that are all natural and have made our experience at places memorable. We can't thank you enough for your generosity in sharing your beautiful home with our family and all 6 of us are so grateful for the memories we have created here!

Fantastic property with first class oceanfront. Sea turtles out front are there 24/7. Very good and convenient snorkeling out front. Have always stayed in 10/10 rated houses and this was the best stocked and outfitted kitchen yet. Did not need AC during 10 days with cool breeze

Great location, incredible views and we saw turtles every day. However, the property needs some TLC. The air conditioners in three (3) rooms were broken and had been temporarily replaced by freestanding units with venting thru open doors and windows that didn't work well. The living room was too hot to spend time in during the afternoons because of the broken air conditioner. Seems like the AC issue has been going on for quite some time as there was an letter (with no date) on the counter addressing the issue. How do three (3) different AC units go out at the same time? Several broken waterline tiles in the pool. The refrigerator/freezer did not work properly...froze many items in the refrigerator and the ice maker did not work. Two of the sliding doors are very difficult to open. Two wall lights flickered constantly when turned on. It feels like they don't want to spend any money to fix some of the basic items in the house.

There was even a pack-n-play and spoon walker available for the babies! The pool was pristine, and the tiny beach hosts sea turtles every night! The location was perfect... a quick walk to baby beach and short drive to shopping and dining. We all agreed this might be our new family reunion location. And the communication with manager was fast!! Highly recommend.
