What we guarantee: Both townhomes are always inside Pili Mai at Poipu and always within a 2-3 minute walk of each other along the resort's flat paths. Unit A is a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom townhome and Unit B is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom townhome, with exactly the beds listed below in every bedroom. Unit A's lanai looks across the lawn and tropical hedges to the mountains; Unit B's ground-floor lanai faces the lawn and palms with a distant glimpse of the ocean on the horizon. The 5 bedrooms sleep 10 guests at 2 per bedroom, and the sleeper sofa in each living room sleeps 2 more, adding 4 additional guests for a combined maximum of 14.



Unit A is the anchor: an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space with a granite island, stainless appliances and a dining table for six that opens straight onto a covered lanai with a wicker sofa and chairs. The king master suite has a double-vanity bathroom; the two queen bedrooms share the other two full baths (one with a glass walk-in shower, the others with tub-shower combos). A stacked washer and dryer sit in the hallway.



Unit B mirrors the finish on a smaller footprint: a granite-island kitchen with Bosch appliances, a living room with a leather sofa and a round dining table, and a covered ground-floor lanai with a bistro set opening onto the lawn. The queen master has an en-suite double-vanity bath with a tub-shower, the second queen bedroom uses the second full bath, and a stacked washer and dryer are in the hall closet.



Good to know before you book: each townhome has its own front door and its own entry details, so the two groups come and go independently. Pili Mai's buildings are two storeys; some homes are single-level and some have a flight of stairs to the entry or inside, so tell us if stairs are a concern and we will flag it on your booking. Free parking is on site, both homes have central air conditioning and ceiling fans, and there is a 4-night minimum with check-in from 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM.

The Space:

Unit A (3BR): Unit A is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom townhome at Pili Mai with an open-concept main floor: a kitchen with a large granite island and counter seating, stainless appliances and glass-front cabinets, a dining table with bench seating for six, and a living room with a sectional sofa and wall-mounted TV under ceiling fans. Sliding doors open onto a covered lanai furnished with a wicker sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table, looking across the lawn and tropical hedges toward the mountains. The living room sofa is a sleeper for two more guests, bringing this home's total to 8. The master bedroom has a king bed, a wall-mounted TV and an en-suite bathroom with a double vanity. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed; between them are two more full bathrooms, one with a glass walk-in shower and one with a tub-shower combination. Central air conditioning runs throughout, and a stacked washer and dryer are in the hallway closet.



Unit B (2BR): Unit B is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom ground-floor townhome at Pili Mai with the same build quality in a smaller plan. The kitchen has a granite island with two bar stools, Bosch stainless appliances and glass-front cabinets, and flows into a dining area with a round table and a living room with a leather sofa and recliner. Glass doors open to a covered lanai with a bistro table and two chairs set right on the lawn, with palms, open fields and a distant glimpse of the ocean on the horizon. The living room sofa is a sleeper for two more guests, for a total of 6 in this home. The master bedroom has a queen bed, plantation shutters and an en-suite bathroom with a double vanity and a tub-shower; the second bedroom also has a queen bed and uses the second full bathroom with a tub-shower. Central air conditioning, ceiling fans and a stacked washer and dryer in the hall closet complete the home.

Pili Mai at Poipu is a low-rise townhome community of numbered two-story buildings beside the Kiahuna Golf Course, with one shared pool, hot tub, and fitness center on the grounds, so the two townhomes may share a building or sit in neighboring buildings but are always only a 2-3 minute walk apart along the resort's flat paths.

Your reservation includes the private interiors of both Unit A and Unit B, each with its own front door and its own entry details, plus the shared Pili Mai resort amenities: the community pool, hot tub, fitness center and barbecue areas. Free parking is on site. Arrival instructions, entry details and parking information for each townhome are sent before check-in.



The Neighborhood:

Pili Mai sits on Kiahuna Plantation Drive in Koloa on Kauai's sunny South Shore, one of the most reliably clear stretches of coastline on the island. Kiahuna Beach is within walking distance of the complex, and Poipu Beach Park - regularly ranked among the best beaches in the United States - is about a mile away and a short drive from the front gate. Poipu Shopping Village, roughly a quarter to a half mile down Kiahuna Plantation Drive, puts restaurants, boutiques and casual dining within easy walking distance. The broader Koloa and Poipu corridor adds Kukui'ula Village for dining and shops, Spouting Horn blowhole, the National Tropical Botanical Garden, the historic Koloa town center, snorkeling with sea turtles at Poipu Beach, sunset cruises from Port Allen, and the dramatic Na Pali Coast a scenic drive to the north.



Getting Around:

Lihue Airport (LIH) is the gateway to Kauai and is about 25-30 minutes away by car. A rental car is strongly recommended for this stay - it is the standard choice for visitors to the South Shore and gives the group the flexibility to reach beaches, trailheads and the North Shore on their own schedule. Rideshare exists on Kauai but coverage is more limited than on the mainland, so pre-arranging transportation or relying on a rental is advisable. The immediate Poipu area around Pili Mai is walkable for beach access and a trip to Poipu Shopping Village, but most broader island exploration will require a vehicle.
