“The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older...”

“We were a little surprised how well this hotel was rated. It wasn't bad, just not as exceptional as the ratings reflect. There were only 2 pillows in the room, and when I ask for more the staff informed me there were none. At a hotel? No pillows? The room was clean enough, but not spotless. “Wonderful attention to details in the room. Spacious luxury in our corner room overlooking the river. Two layers of double-pane glass dampen the road noise to an acceptable level for us and was outweighed by the convenience of the location, so much within walking distance. Staff were eagerly helpful. “This is our second time staying at this place and we just love how it’s in the center of Gion district surrounded with the best food spots. We also love how close it is to shopping, nishiki market, karaoke, all the fun stuff!! The space itself is huge and the onsen is just the cherry on top after a LOOONG day of walking/exploring. “I made the right choice to stay here. One of the best experience I had in Kyoto, I wished I booked more than a night. The staff were very welcoming and courteous, they gave me a 5 star service. The room, actually it was more of a suite, was clean. I felt like I was in a different world when I was there because of the set up/ambiance. They also have a great location, just right beside the shrine. Just don’t bring heavy luggage because of the stairs, I felt bad that they carried my heavy luggage...
