  • Studio Wow! Is our new addition to our Home and business La Ventanita Cafe. Nestled on the far corner on stilts with a bird eye view of Arenal Volcano, Lake Arenal & surrounding cloud forest hills. This tiny studio is perfect for couples, single travelers or a group of 3, to get away and enjoy our little mountain village of El Castillo.

    Studio Wow features a queen size bed, sitting area, a hot shower with tub, Wifi, A/C, cable TV and a kitchenette, we provide you a breakfast basket so you can make your own breakfast, as our restaurant offers lunch and dinner.

    One of my favorite feature is gifted by Mother Nature, the sound of the river "Rio Gato" and tons of wildlife. This village is truley a bird watcher paradise.

    Stratigicley located you can walk to the Butterfly Conservatory or hike up to a hidden waterfall.

We greatly enjoyed our experience here and will definitely plan to return!Kelly was an amazing host with a ton of knowledge and recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area. A huge bonus: the restaurant downstairs which is super convenient and delicious. We cannot recommend this property enough!

The room was fine minus a few bugs but it was taken care of. Very friendly staff great restaurant on site with delicious food. The view of the volcano and lake was amazing.

Hébergement près de tout, accueil facile et très bienveillante. Merci Kenneth. Belle vue sur le volcan Arenal et le resto La ventanita juste à côté est très bon, nous y sommes allés deux fois durant notre séjour avec un take out à la chambre pour finir.

Kelly was a wonderful host with kind amenities for breakfast to great recommendations of things to do in the area. Double bonus is they have a great restaurant on the property as well! Views were beautiful and we were welcome by Harley, their resident cat. Highly recommend and would love to come again one day.

The view from the studio is one of a kind overlooking lake Arenal, the volcano and the forest. Kelly’s restaurant is top notch and very well known all around. Check La Ventinita. There is easy access to the park and multiple activities. It is a great way to escape the congestion of La Fortuna

Perfect Oasis

Great place with a fantastic view of the lake and volcano. The host also operates a wonderful restaurant on the property. We will definitely be looking to stay here again when visit Costa Rica for our next adventure.

Stunning View

This studio was exactly as described and has an amazing view. We had plenty of space for the two of us. The location was great, we had privacy from the main tourist areas but could still easily get to all attractions we wanted to do. We loved our time here.

This was such a cool place! The restaurant La Ventanita has amazing pizza, burritos, and traditional foods, and is right down the hill from the studio. There are motorcycle themed decor in both the restaurant and studio, which was pretty fun. I liked that its in a small town El Castillo, but close to Arenal and Sky Adventures, and a short walk to a lovely Butterfly Conservancy. The view is absolutely amazing! It rains often in this area, and the sound of the rain on the roof is calming. We really loved staying here.

The studio is a wonderful spot and was perfect for our first few days in Costa Rica. We didn't realize how long it would take us to get here being first timers, so we were later than anticipated. Kelly gave us excellent suggestions and we would love to come back. We loved enjoying our costa rican coffee in the morning and watching the wildlife.

We absolutely loved our stay at Studio WOW, and we did not want to leave. Kelly, the host, goes above and beyond - more than any host we have experienced before. We had a late arrival, and his care for us softened the effects of a very long travel day. The studio is just as it is pictured, but it’s what you can’t see that meant the most: a very cozy and comfortable bed; the constantly changing and beautiful volcano views; watching the weather roll in and out; the delicious food and warm staff in the restaurant. Thank you, Kelly. We hope to return!

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed due to location, location, location!!! Incredible view of the Arenal volcano, the lake, and the national park. Kelly could charge extra for the balcony for bird watching. Can’t even say all the birds we saw, but most notably a family of parrots and tucans. Then Kelly’s restaurant is steps away and fantastic. Plus he is so kind to leave breakfast goodies in the room and give all kinds of recommendations for activities. The Butterfly Conservatory is about 5 minutes walking distance, the lake is about a 30 minute walk (kayaking, water skiing, etc) and the entrance to the national park is about a 15-minute drive. Kelly has a friend who can arrange local transportation. All of this in a quiet, slow-paced area. The VRBO itself is gorgeous and has everything a couple needs. Don’t pass this up. It checks ALL the boxes.

Room with a view ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Breathtaking view and comfortable stay! Huge tree with multiple varieties of birds including Toucans! Our hosts made our time very special. They provided breakfast items for our refrigerator and gave us great tips on area attractions. Their adjacent restaurant was a short walk away with delicious shakes and a variety of good food! With the volcano and lake right there we enjoyed Water activities as well as gorgeous hikes!

Amazing views in El Castillo

Stuido Wow is aptly named! We really enjoyed our stay here. The views were amazing, and it was great to be away from the more touristy locations in La Fortuna. The studio is beautiful and has everything you need. The host even included fresh eggs and fruit. I would highly recommend this spot. Kelly's restaurant below is also fantastic. Kelly had some great suggestions on things to do in the area as well.

Amazing view

Book Studio One now!!! What a cool place. The studio itself is very cool but the view is SPECTACULAR! Best view we saw in three full days in the area. El Castillo is a small town away from the bustle of La Fortuna with everything you need within walking distance. Kelly and Alejandra are great people and their La Ventanita Cafe is awesome. Best burger and beer I’ve had in CR. Stay here without regrets!!

Simply, WOW

Although the photos are great, they simply don’t do the place justice. Kelly has mindfully designed and built something spectacular with this place. He and his wife, Alejandra were so friendly and welcoming. They also own a restaurant on the property that we ate at and not only was it some of the best food we have eaten on our trip, the prices were incredible too. This is more than 5/5, we would say 10/10.

Awesome

We cannot recommend this location highly enough. The pictures are accurate. Upon checking in the owners met with us and were very nice. It is located directly next to a restaurant the owners also own. Food was fantastic. If you want to be off the beaten path and you will not be disappointed. If and when return to the area, this is exactly where we would stay again. The owner Kelly is super cool. Lots of passion went into the property design and into his restaurant.

Truly WOW

The views were spectacular. La Ventanita restaurant next door was tasty for lunch & dinner and super convenient - same owners as Studio WOW. This made it easy to pick up keys when we arrived. Fresh fruit, eggs, and bread were available for us to make our own breakfast, though the kitchen is tiny. This location is very near the Butterfly Conservatory, and not far from Arenal Observatory, Arenal Natonial Park, and Hanging Bridges. Kelly, the owner, was extremely helpful, especially when I left luggage behind.

Beautiful hidden gem with amazing views

The host was extremely attentive and readily available. We were provided local recommendations for anything and everything, including dining and various adventures for all activity levels. The views were spectacular and the restaurant on the property was delicious, serving lunch and dinner!!! The property is the last driveway on the left, just prior to the butterfly conservatory (on the right). I used the butterfly conservatory address on Waze maps to have a solid destination. Rate this property, host, and overall experince extremely highly!

Notre hôte, Kelly, est vraiment très sympathique et chaleureux. Il nous a donné de bonnes suggestions d’activités à faire dans les environs et sur le chemin du retour vers San Jose.La location est très bien située si vous souhaitez faire des activités près de Arenal. Cependant, si vous misez davantage sur les activités près de La Fortuna, c’est quand même 30 minutes de route. Le restaurant situé au même emplacement est très bon et pas trop cher. Il faut tout de même savoir que le stationnement de celui-ci est juste à côté du logement et qu’il peut être difficile de stationner.Le logement est sur pilotis et offre une superbe vue sur le volcan et les alentours. Il est toutefois très petit et offre peu d’espace pour mettre ses valises et déposer ses vêtements. Il n’est pas très bien isolé et des petites fourmis se sont invitées dans l’appartement. Kelly nous a mentionné qu’il tenterait de régler ce problème.Bref, un bel endroit en connaissant ces petits inconvénients.
