Be just steps away from La Jolla’s quieter Windansea beach when you stay at this beautiful newly renovated surf nest decorated in a boho mid century beach theme. Spend the day at the beach, just two blocks away, or at the home’s private pool. In addition to being just 2 blocks from the beach, you’ll be close walking distance to La Jolla and Bird Rock restaurants, coffee, cafes, shops, and a Sunday morning Farmer’s Market. There are also nearby trails, caves, and seals to check out.

The one story home features 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom with king size bed opens out to the pool. Another bedroom, with queen size bed, looks at a private patio. Third bedroom offers twin bunk bed plus trundle rollout twin, to sleep 3 separately, and opens to its own private patio.

The main living areas include a spacious living room with plenty of seating and a large flat screen tv. Dining room includes a large table with seating for six and a fireplace. Desk and chair and extra rolling computer tray are available for remote workers. Living and dining areas walk out to a private patio with pool, outdoor dining table and chairs, barbecue grill, and fireplace.

The newly updated kitchen offers all appliances including stove, oven, microwave oven, filtered water, refrigerator with water and ice dispenser, coffee maker, dishwasher, and many pots, pans, utensils, cooking and pantries supplies you may need.

The home is equipped with extra linens, towels, beach towels, and beach umbrella. It is also stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer. As well as cards, games, puzzles, books, and DVD movies. The laundry room is available with a washing machine, dryer, detergent, iron, and ironing board.

Fir those traveling with babies, we have a new Graco pack-n-play with sheets, that also has a bassinet feature for younger babies.

Three parking spots are provided and plenty of parking in front.

Things you should know:
- Like most coastal homes, this home does not have air conditioning. Rooms have quiet high speed ceiling fans for extra breeze if needed. The house has heat.
- The pool is not heated
- No smoking in or on property.
- There are 3 steps to enter the property. There is 1 step into a shower. Which might not make the home suitable for everyone.
- Pet friendly fenced in yard
- Quieter neighborhood suitable for quieter guests. Excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties are not allowed.

Our reason for our stay was our mother went through a difficult cancer treatment and doctor suggested she reduce her stress. I liked this location was very thorough in the description making for an easy setup process. The hosts were great with communication. We arrived to a very clean spacious and complete house. The area was very quiet and easy to travel to areas. The week we spent was great for not only moms health but our own as well. We are looking forward to returning to this place

We enjoyed a fabulous stay! My husband and I, with my two daughters and their husband/boyfriend! We were in SanDiego to celebrate my youngest of three daughters, who graduated San Diego State! We love LaJolla and Wind and Sea Beach! The house came perfect for the six of us to sleep comfortably, plenty of space, amazing back yard, proximity to beach and our favorite spots in LaJolla and Pacific Beach! We highly recommend and would definitely hope to return! Amazing stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Surf’s Nest. It has been beautifully renovated while keeping the mid century design of the house. It is a very short walk to the beach to watch sunsets or have a picnic while soaking up the sun. La Jolla and Bird rock are both close to the home. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Highway 5 to go to other areas of San Diego. The traffic is rough between 4-6:30pm so plan around those times.

My grand son had a blast to go to the park ( easy drive) and at the beach. Rest of the family had a relaxing time and enjoyed near by beach and town very much. The accommodation was comfortable cleanliness adequate ( our family is very picky ) owners very responsive and visitor packages were very helpful

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in La Jolla. This property is so close to the beach. At night it’s so nice to open the windows and listen to the waves crash against the beach. The house is spacious and clean. It’s beautifully decorated and very warm/inviting. We had a great time!

My family had the pleasure of staying at this lovely private oasis in La Jolla for 5 beautiful nights! Perfect location! My family enjoys walking and it was great to go for an evening or morning stroll on the beach. We had fun on many of our scenic jaunts to explore the shops, museums and galleries in both La Jolla and Pacific beach. If you don't care for walking you can take advantage of the public transportation. There is a bus stop right outside the front door to take you to Old Town, the Seaport or even Coronado. You can easily purchase a PRONTO card online that you can use for public transportation to reach all the great attractions that San diego has to offer.The home is spacious, nicely decorated and offers very luxurious linens and plush towels. We didn't use the pool but it was nice to just sit by it to unwind. There are plenty of restaurants nearby but if you choose to dine in you'll be thrilled with the dream kitchen unbelievably stocked with top of the line appliances and cookware!My family made many wonderful memories at this lovely home and we all look forward to returning for another awesome adventure sometime soon! We loved our stay at Surf Nest! Centrally located near shops and restaurants, walkable to the ocean. Clean and well kept, beautifully appointed and comfortable. Our kids loved all she games and we loved hanging out on the pool deck. The owners gave us all the info we needed up front and had lots of great recs for places to eat nearby. Now that we’ve fallen in love with La Jolla, we’ll be back!

It's way better than in the pictures. Very happy with the house. The location is great. A quick walk to WindadseaBeach, quick drive to La Jolla Cove. Really central in San Diego itself. Great communication. It has everything you need, The pool was too cold to swim in due to some unusual cold front in San Diego in winter, which is to be expected, but kids had fun anyway.

The remodeling of this home is enviable, and folks who stay will enjoy the details that have gone into it. Not only that, but when you emerge from the front door (we arrived after dark) you'll be greeted by a stunning canopy of beautiful trees that La Jolla elders planted long ago. We were delighted and it would be an understatement to say that it exceeded expectation. It's walking distance to restaurants, and a short walk to the stairs that lead to the Wind & Sea beach area. The beach won't work for young children, but it was perfect for us grownups (though we did get dashed with water cascading over the rocks! Humiliating, but refreshing). There are three fully equipped bedrooms, including one with bunk beds that we didn't need on this trip. The kitchen was great and stocked perfectly -- even water, butter (maybe left behind by previous visitors, but still . . ). Excellent appliances in the kitchen, and we did use the washer and dryer, also perfectly usable. An outstanding feature of the hosts is their attention to the little things -- such as sanitary napkins, bags, towels, etc. We enjoyed sitting by the (we chose to leave it unheated - November) pool but didn't really have time for that anyway. Plenty of seating and space for adults to sit out in privacy. Nice outdoor fireplace was inviting, though we didn't stay long enough to try it. TIP If you arrive at night, familiarize yourself with the updated lighting controls.

Property is charming, clean, brightly sunshine lit and well stocked. Great location to the ocean, San Diego, La Jolla and Del Mar. We did some sightseeing and went to the Breeders Cup races. Owner very responsive. Highly recommend.

Perfect location. Short drive to the Zoo, beach, tide pool and seals. Great for children of all ages!! Nice quiet neighborhood. Beach chairs and umbrella provided made it convenient for our day at the beach. Excellent restaurants also close by.

We really enjoyed the week at the Surf Nest. Great location for walking to Windansea beach, driving downtown to Seaworld and the zoo, or north to La Jolla shores beach. Our family loved the comfortable, clean house and spending time in the pool. Highly recommend. Home owner was very responsive.

We were a family of four adults and one child and especially liked the spaciousness of the home. It was clean and supplied with everything we needed. It was just as lovely as pictured. My 6yr old grandson especially loved the pool and toasting marshmallows in the outside fireplace. My only suggestion would be able to open the queen bedroom window. It looked like the original window with no screen. There was an extra fan to use but fresh air would be nice.

We had the best time in San Diego and this house was awesome! We could walk to the beach every morning! The house was perfect for our family to lounge at the end of a day of exploring. The pool was such a bonus. This house was clean, beautiful, very well stocked and the beds were so comfortable. We loved our stay!

We had a lovely stay at the beach house! It was the perfect spot to explore La Jolla and the Bird Rock neighborhood. The nearby Windandsea Beach was great for lounging and watching the waves and surfers. The pool was a little chilly in June but that didn’t stop my youngest daughter (12) from swimming. We arrived at night so it was a little hard to find in the dark, even with detailed directions, and we had a small issue with the key code not working, but our host resolved it quickly. Once inside, everything about our stay was great!
