We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sunset Cottage! Built in 1954, it is a true mid century modern gem, harkening back to a time where these houses were common in La Jolla. The teak paneling, ceilings, and fireplace in the living and dining room is stunning! The house is very roomy and comfortable throughout. The pool area and the pool itself are large and inviting ( to hot tub was a hit with our older children!). We had the optional screen placed around the pool and it really gave us peace of mind with our grand daughter about. The kitchen is well stocked with plates , glasses , etc. It has the original pine cabinetry which we loved! The bathrooms are well stocked with towels and the bedrooms well appointed and super comfortable. Our hostess Jennifer was super helpful throughout our stay and check in and out was easy. Finally - THE VIEW!! Totally spectacular from the living room, dining room, and front yard. We spent hours looking out at the Pacific and the sunsets. Absolutely priceless! We’ve been coming to La Jolla since the ‘80’s and in all that time we haven’t stayed in a place that has it all like Sunset Cottage. We will definitely be coming back , hopefully for many years to come!
