Some houses take a minute to settle into. This one gets you on the first breath — an A-frame up in the pines on Lake Arrowhead's north side, where the windows climb to a vaulted, wood-beamed peak and the treetops sit right there in the frame. Golden mountain light pours in all afternoon. Stone accent walls and warm timber keep North Bay Chalet firmly in classic alpine territory, with far more room to spread out than the silhouette lets on.

The great room opens onto the dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and seating at the island, so whoever's cooking stays part of the conversation instead of stuck around the corner. Downstairs, the game room takes over: a pool table at the center of it, plus a stack of board games for the nights nobody feels like moving much.

Bedtime is straightforward. A queen bedroom gives you a quiet corner to retreat to, while the open loft tucks two queen beds under the peaked ceiling and comes with its own private bath and shower. On the lower level, a second room with two more queens hands the rest of the group their own floor. Three full bathrooms mean the morning lineup never becomes a thing.

Out back, the deck earns its keep from first coffee to last log. There's ample seating, a barbecue grill with cover, brush, and a full tool set for cookouts as the light drops behind the ridge, and a fire pit for when the temperature follows it down. Towering trees wrap the whole thing, so it stays private and quiet — just cool alpine air and wind moving through the pines.

Lake Arrowhead Village is a few minutes away, with lakeside dining, coffee, and shops sitting right at the water's edge. Families tend to lose a whole day at SkyPark at Santa's Village, a short drive east in Skyforest. Closer to home, the Will Abell Memorial Trail is an easy, well-marked loop through the forest, and the Pinnacles Trailhead up Highway 173 trades a steeper climb for big granite views. Come winter, Snow Valley is about a half hour east and the Big Bear resorts sit under an hour out, which makes this a true four-season basecamp in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Home Truths:
- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- One bedroom (primary bedroom/bathroom) is locked off and unavailable to guests.
- A 4WD or AWD vehicle and chains are recommended, especially during winter conditions. Driveways or roads leading to the property can be steep and may require additional traction.
- The home does not equipped with AC.
- Please note that all persons, including infants, children, and visitors, count toward the home's total occupancy. Guests cannot exceed the permitted occupancy at any time.
- Use of outdoor activities is prohibited from 10 pm - 7 am.
- No amplified sound is permitted outside at any time. Indoor sound cannot be loud enough to be audible at the property line.
- Winter weather warning- From November through March, all vehicles are required to carry chains in their vehicle.
- 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended in the winter months. Chains may be required to access the home.
- AvantStay plows and clears the driveway and one pathway to the front door. We provide shovels for guests to use should they wish to clear paths on any other part of the property.

Parking Details:
- No garage parking.
- Driveway accommodates at least 3 vehicles.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 28 days require a security deposit.
