“This is a Hotel from the early 20th century. It has wonderful character. It doesn't have AC but does not really need it due to being up in the mountains at about 3500 ft. a room fan and open window was more than adequate. We had small issue with a smoke detector battery getting low and the detector started chirping at 4 in the moring. They don't have over night staff so it was fixed in the morning while we were out and fixed by noon. They do have a weekend breakfast that was very good. ...

“Loved Outpost Inn; highly recommend and can't imagine staying anywhere else in town -- incredible vibe, great coffee shop and wine bar, lots of cute spots to sit inside and outside. It felt like the place in town when all the younger, cooler (young meaning, 50 and under, ha) hang out. I loved my room, which was spacious and comfortable. I appreciated the free drip coffee in the mornings. And wow, the weather in Highlands can't be beat in the summer.”

“The Mountain House is unique. It is truly an old house that has been modified to include rooms and a restaurant. There are about 8-10 rooms in the Main House where we stayed. There is a separate building called the Bunkhouse out back. The room was clean but very small and tight. More so that I thought was possible but we got used to it.
