  • Lacus Vitae is our family’s happy place and we want to make it yours as well! Here you’ll find a newly remodeled lakefront cottage that allows you to truly enjoy all that Lake Waccamaw has to offer. Lake Waccamaw is the largest of the natural Carolina Bay lakes with a perfect pH.
    Our lakefront home is located 39 miles west of Wilmington and only 35 minutes off I-95. Lake Waccamaw State Park is 6 miles away where you will find trails to hike and learn about the plants and animals that are only found in or around the lake, the boat landing is a mile from the house and the pier is right out the backdoor where you can sip coffee as you watch a beautiful sunrise or sit back and relax. Let us make our home yours, take a vacation and relax.

This was a nice little spot right on the water. We really enjoyed our stay and having access to the doc was a plus! I would definitely recommend for other to stay here. The host was great with communication, recommendations, and getting back to us with anything we needed.

Perfect place to get away for a quiet weekend. Beautiful scenery just sitting in the house looking out or sitting on the dock. Enjoyed watching the ducks, turtles, and even gators (in the canal across the street). Definitely on our list of return getaways.

Quiet, clean and good value. Kitchen was reasonably supplied with much coffee. Unexpected were no closet and no empty dresser drawers. We managed around that, as we were three adults attending a family wedding in Whiteville.

Lovely stay. The little home is beautiful. The view is beautiful. Comfy master bed. Everything was clean. R was lot fabulous spot. The canal across the street has alligators. A fun time. My only negatives were for someone that is not agile, the home is very steep. When walking through the house you are on quite the slant. The showerhead has hardly any water pressure coming from it. Wish I had brought some kayaks. Great time.
