Updated Lansing Home | 4BR w Basement Theater Room

This is a newly updated 4 bedroom home in Lansing. You open the door to the living room to your left and stairs ahead of you. The main level living space comes with the a 55" Roku SmartTV and wireless internet. The kitchen, small dining area, full bathroom and both bunk bedrooms are located on the main floor. Upstairs has a half bath and two bedrooms with queen sized beds. The basement has a card table and board/kids games, two futons and a projector screen w/Xbox1. It has a deck in the back.

Nice Place, needs a deep clean

The place was nice with a quiet location. We loved the projector setup in the basement and the amount of sleeping area was great. The only problem I had with the place was the cleanliness, when we first arrived the bathroom smelled like it was just used, and there are cabinets in the kitchen that are visibly sticky. If I’m paying a cleaning fee and asked to strip beds then the house needs to be clean on arrival.

Very dirty and bad communication

Walls/ceilings/kitchen cabinets are very dirty, cobwebs on every level with the theater room the worst.The cabinets are coated in grease, not dish towels and had to buy a pan to cook breakfast in.The garage was full of garbage, chairs on the deck are broken. I messaged multiple times asking how the theater/ Tv works and never got a response. Neighbors were load until 4:30am one day. We left 2 days early due to the issues and communication. The manager responded and said thanks for the info, we will let our cleaning services know. We should of demanded a refund

Nice little house

Cleanliness was adequate. Beds a bit uncomfortable and didn’t seem the most sturdy. Could use a little TLC here and there. Nice decor. Back yard is nice. Kids loved the theater downstairs. Enough room for our family of six. Rental and check in a breeze. Decent location.

Summer VRBO Stay

This was a VRBO that we rented to have a place to stay in Lansing, with another family who was also in the area for this time period (4 adults, 4 children ages 8-16). We have previously stayed at motels for this event but decided to check out a VRBO. Having a house with a back yard/fire pit and extra space inside was very nice. Full kitchen with several utensils and tools to cook was helpful in making several meals at this property. Having laundry on site and beds for all was also good. This is a 1951 house that has been remodeled and updated. There are two bedrooms on the top level, with a 1/2 bath. Plenty of room to store your belongings and both bedrooms are large in size with Q beds. Comfortability of beds was ok. Main level included a small dining room (table for 4, bar with 2 chairs), kitchen, full bath living room with lots of seating and 2 decent sized bedrooms with double bunks. The bunks were ok in comfortability, but not the most stable/sturdy and kids older than 10 were not comfortable sleeping on top bunk. Bigger closets and bedding/pillows all included. Towels included as well. The deck and backyard were nice, but overdue in needing to be mowed. Upon arrival there was also garbage near the fire pit that we cleaned up and food left in the fridge and freezer. Some chairs outside, but I'd suggest bringing your own for more comfort. Plenty of room in the garage for parking or playing yard games when it was raining. The basement has a washer and dryer which was nice, but they were older (seemed to work fine, just smaller tub sizes). A theater room/area in the basement was also a hit with the teenagers that came with us. Several firework leftovers were in the yard (front and back) when we arrived. Cleanliness was ok, but definitely needs a deep clean throughout. There is also a mouse issue which we noticed with the silver/metal box trap upon arrival. Based on all this is where we came up with the final scores noted above for rating, as it was a nice property, but could use some better cleaning (especially when we pay a cleaning fee with our stay), figure out how to get rid of the mice and communication was not the best at the beginning of the booking when we had questions (owner reported the app doesn't always alert him of the messages).
