Home on the range
This is the third time I stayed at this property, all with different groups of people. This most recent stay was with our adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren. The property, which does remind me of a home on the range, is a great space for kids to play. Unfortunately, the wood ticks were out and about which affected the desire to go out and explore. I was a bit disappointed in the cleanliness of the home and overall organization. The stove and under beds need more attention when cleaning. The kitchen cupboards should be organized allowing people to more easily find items as well as put them back where they belong. The manual could be updated with a guide on TV channels, where to find the DVD player and other minor updates. I like this property, but I feel like it has gone downhill just a bit since we last visited in 2021.

Great girls weekend
We love walking the property!! With a nearby hunting area we stay far from other cars/trucks parked nearby. We Have never seen hunters but wearing a little hunter orange made us feel safe. Might be nice if the house had an orange vest or hat to borrow

Wooded Oasis
Such a lovely and well-appointed property close to Sioux Falls. We had a girls weekend at this property and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hottub was wonderful, the kitchen was well stocked, and so much space for everyone. We had lots of laughs and will return for another girls weekend.

Fun times !
This was our fourth time staying at the Sanctuary and it was just as much fun this time as the first. We love the wildlife and secluded area. The hot tub is always a hit. Nice that the kitchen is furnished too. We’ll probably come back again in the near future. Thx.

This is a cabin that reminds you of being out in the Hills. Nice and big. Only complaint is that the water did not get very hot for a shower. And it could of been dusted before we came.

Extended family getaway
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this property. It is the perfect size for our extended family of 10. The large open Kitchen/Dining/Living space is perfect for us all to be together doing multiple activities. It is so peaceful on the property. The house is well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Fun Christmas
Had our family Christmas get away, everyone seemed to have a great time. Some took a hike but it was a cold and windy. Hot tub was a hit. Plenty of room for playing games and eating.

Family Thanksgiving
This was our 5th year using Kevin’s property for a gathering place for an early family Thanksgiving celebration. We love the area and accommodations! We’re able to all eat together in the great room area. The kitchen is well equipped and the openness makes it easy and enjoyable for preparing and serving. Kevin is prompt in communicating. We’ve never had issues during our weekend. We book for the next year before leaving!

Beautiful views from a wonderful cabin above the Sioux River. Lot's of wild life, we say deer, turkeys, eagles and hawks. A easy to get to place, off the beaten path with plenty of entertainment options, if you get bored of scenic beauty and solitude. We will definitely stay here again.

Great time had by all!
The property was everything we wanted/expected. Only minor issue is that there were a ton of flies that get inside. Even with the electronic swatter, we spent close to the first hour killing as many as possible. Slightly expected given the location, but still a nuisance. 4.999999 stars. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Beautiful, large home surrounded by nature and solitude.
We had a wonderful stay over Labor Day weekend with family. Lots of beds (and they were super comfy) and plenty of room to spread out. I’m was 100 degrees the whole weekend and the A/C did a pretty great job keeping up - even with all the windows. We didn’t take advantage of the hot tub, because the weather was so warm, but we definitely enjoyed the pool table, foosball, and game table. Owners were very quick to respond and overall fantastic!!

The Perfect “Backyard” Wedding
We hosted our small wedding at here and it was absolutely perfect! About 5 of us stayed in the cabin but hosted about 70 people at our small “backyard” wedding! There were so many beautiful places on the property for photo opportunities. The cabin was perfect for preparation and the property was perfect for the ceremony and celebration. I can’t say enough great things about the property owner, Kevin. He was so nice and very responsive and polite! He definitely made sure we had everything we needed! I highly recommend this property for a small wedding, a family or friend gathering or even just a getaway. Beautiful views, a comfortable atmosphere and good company, nothing gets better!

This was a perfect and beautiful stay for our family get together. The location was great. It was in a quiet area yet close enough to run into town if needed. Family enjoyed fishing, beautiful sunsets on the deck,and playtime in the yard. We would definitely stay again!

The property was conveniently located just outside of Sioux Falls and was a fun little getaway to celebrate a birthday and two friends who recently had been married. South Dakota Wedding & Vacation
This was an annual family gathering which included a wedding in Sioux Falls. All went well, cooking, grilling and living. It is very isolated (a benefit for us) with many birds, deer, rabbits, and turkeys. Plentys and bugs but not different from other sites. There were a few issues (dirty glasses and a broken hand mixer) but easily taken carre of - Kevin was very responsive. Two points for visitors - access to the lower level was not possible for elderly and the distance to the river does not make it accessible for elderly. We rent a house every year for our family vacation and this location was great for us. We would recommend it highly and would return except we usually plan to visit different areas (this was our 15th yearly trip). J & P

Beautiful home, views are amazing! Lots of room to hang out with family or friends. Chairs on main level are a bit uncomfortable. Beds are comfy but super soft. Definitely recommend staying here. Hope to return sometime in the future.

Awesome location! Land large enough to hike down to the river, next to a reserve for more, at the end of a road and away from neighbors for privacy and serenity. Far enough from Sioux Falls for the 'get away' feel but close enough to be able to run to town. Great house, plenty of space to spread out, all the modern amenities but away and with a great view!

Girls’ Weekend Return!
This was our second stay at the cabin. Our group of six girls had a blast. The cabin has plenty of room, great views, and awesome main floor to allow us time to connect in the kitchen/dining area and the living area. We also got a little time out on the back deck. So good! The location is perfect- close enough to Sioux Falls to provide us fun dining out options!

Amazing cabin
I loved the cabin, unfortunately, we were sad to see that there was a huge snowbank right when we arrived which our truck got stuck in. We had to dig it out for about 40 minutes in the cold and there was not enough shovels or any salt to prevent this from happening again. When leaving the next morning, we, unfortunately, got stuck again. I also felt as though the check-out process was a little too much considering we had to pay for a cleaning service fee. One of the asks was to make sure the hot tub is properly maintained even if we are not using it - which I thought was a bit much. We ended up using the hot tub but I don't think we should be responsible to over clean the place if we are paying a ton for a cleaning service. All and all, the place was beautiful and the host was very responsive. I would recommend this place to anyone, but would just ask that the checkout and cabin logistics are communicated prior to booking so guests are aware.

Amazing Getaway
Booked this stay with a group of 7 girlfriends to reconnect over a weekend. The location to Sioux Falls is super convenient and the space itself was perfect for this size of group to spend time together. The facilities we're clean and beautiful. There were enough towels, blankets, etc. Kitchen was very well-stocked with utensils, pans, etc. Check our process was simple and not too labor-intensicellve. Keep an eye out for deer and turkeys as you're arriving to the place and make sure you have an AWD vehicle in your party if staying during the winter. We plan on making this a yearly stay!

Everything you need for R&R
This is a fantastic property. We rented this property for a girls’ weekend. The property is very clean and well-kept. The kitchen has anything you need to cook/eat while you are there. The furniture is clean and comfortable. The beds were great. The hot tub was in excellent condition and overlooks the valley/ sunset. No complaints at all about this property and I hope to return when the weather is nicer in order to go hiking on the property. The property is about 20 minutes from Sioux Falls and about 15 minuets from Harrisburg, SD if you are looking for something to do or need groceries.
