The indoor swimming pool looked gross- the water seemed cloudy and just not clean. We had chosen this hotel because it had an indoor pool but in the end chose not to swim because of the dirty looking water. Everything else was average.

Such a nice, comfy, clean hotel. Loved the Dove toiletries in the bathroom. Comfy pillows, awesome breakfast choices, nice pool and great staff. Nice, convenient area.

Downhill slide into disrepair and disgust
I'm not sure what has happened since our last stay here in 2019 but the hotel has seriously gone down hill. From batter hallway corners, to mystery stains on lamps, curtains and walls to the disgusting grimy hair sprinkled calking around the bathtub that looks like a toddler did it. Not to mention the rusty gross soap holder. Just not up to snuff for the price or the brand. We'll drive to Bloomington back and forth the next time for better, cleaner options. The front desk staff was friendly but the housekeeping was rather surly. Other staff seemed more interested in hanging out front and smoking in groups than anything. Better of the two options in Leroy, but really not a great stay if you can hang in there to get to Urbana or Bloomington. I hope things get turned around but it doesn't look to be that way.

We have stayed at several Holiday Inn Express. I only saw the same two people working the entire time we were there. That said, usually no one was at the front desk to answer questions. The pool was out of towels, coffee pots were empty, breakfast was a game of catch up, we need forks, we need spoons, we need more milk, the pancake mix is out, etc. The two workers tried but just too short staffed. Too much money to pay for lack of service.

While there are certain amenities associated with Holiday Inn Express, this was not the cleanest hotel. There were lots of dead bugs in the windows and there was a strange spray they saturated every room with (we had three) -- so much so that my daughter's skin broke out from lying on the bed. There were some repairs that needed to be made, an improvement to the overall cleanliness. The staff was very friendly though and quick to accommodate.

The staff was amazing … the lady at check in was awesome… water in the bathroom was brown? Other than that and not enough parking it was a nice place to stay
