First and foremost- the spa was unusable for a majority of our planned usage with toddler sleep times, temp was 62 on Sunday, barely climbed up to 70 that first night and the next am was turned on again early at 6ish and turned off on its own. We turned it back on when we noticed the issue and called for service at the 1st avail time, 8am. It took till 2pm for it to be at 100deg, although the handbook says it should have been ready upon arrival. There was maintenance sent at 12 and we had maintenance again on property at 10am the next day (unannounced and before our checkout at 11) We could see exactly how dirty the filter was because there was someone there cleaning it while my husband was not yet fully dressed and we were trying to give our toddler a nap.
Also it noted in the handbook, outdoor lights, but these were not avail.
Cleanliness was an issue. During a time where we were choosing properties that suggest they have enhanced cleaning in place due to the pandemic, because we have a curious toddler who notices everything- we got cards cropping out from under the carpet, forks left under the bed that were sticking out, q tips inviting a battle because he wants to go across a ledge to get what he saw.
Dishes were not put away (a full dishwasher with baking dishes, kid trays, etc.)and we had to be put them because "the people before us didn't do them and 60 other properties are managed and they couldn't wait for the cycle to end." The fridge contained leftover food, which is potentially germ laden and needed to be touched by us to throw away and our small trash can therefore filled up quicker to require us to take it out mid short trip.
The microwave clearly had not been checked and the filth is still there.
Communication was a problem, I didn't get directions and a code until we were already needing to be driving and reception is limited- this was requested early in the day. Inquiries about the actual avail. of children's items listed as additional items on vrbo were inaccurately responded to. We were told they were not there, but ended up being there for us to needlessly pack items.
When we look for a rental in the future we will not use this management company again. They took a week to "investigate" and then offered an apology for not informing us the spa would need time to heat up (5deg/hr is ave. AND not our responsibility accd. to their handbook) and offered out a very small refund while implying we were just "fishing for money."
