Nestled in the scenic Juniata Valley near Lewistown, Pennsylvania, this beautifully furnished 3-bedroom, 2-bath cottage blends warm country charm with modern comforts. Whether you're planning a family getaway, a hiking adventure, a Penn State weekend, or simply a change of scenery, Boxwood Cottage offers a welcoming place to call home.

Step inside and discover the warmth of natural pine walls and ceilings, rich wood accents, and carefully selected furnishings that give this cottage its inviting personality. Sink into the spacious sectional after a day of exploring, enjoy a movie, or gather with family and friends for a relaxing evening together.



The kitchen features beautiful natural wood cabinetry, modern appliances, and everything you need to prepare your favorite meals. Gather around the dining table for a home-cooked dinner, or enjoy a slow morning with a fresh cup of coffee from the dedicated coffee station.



Three inviting bedrooms offer comfortable bedding, soft linens, and cozy cottage touches, while two bathrooms provide convenience for families and groups. Each bedroom is equipped with a sound machine 🎶 to help create a more restful sleeping environment. Mini-split heating and cooling units keep the home comfortable throughout the seasons.

One of the best parts of Boxwood Cottage is enjoying the outdoors! With two covered porches, front and back, there's always a welcoming spot to settle in. Start your morning with coffee on the front porch, enjoy a meal outdoors, or retreat to the back porch for an afternoon of relaxation. Rain or shine, these inviting spaces make it easy to enjoy a little fresh mountain air.



As evening falls, gather around the backyard firepit in Adirondack chairs, roast marshmallows, share stories, and enjoy time together beneath the Pennsylvania sky.

Adventure is waiting just beyond the cottage! Central Pennsylvania is filled with scenic mountain trails, peaceful state parks, winding country roads, and authentic small-town experiences.



Explore Greenwood Furnace State Park, discover the wooded trails of Rothrock State Forest, enjoy the natural beauty of Reeds Gap State Park, or challenge yourself on the famous Thousand Steps Trail. The Juniata River offers opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the scenery.

📌 A Few Important Things to Know Before Booking

🚂 Active Railroad: Boxwood Cottage is located along PA Route 103, directly across the road from active railroad tracks. Long freight trains pass at various times throughout the day and night, creating significant noise that can be heard clearly inside the cottage, including during sleeping hours. We've provided sound machines in each bedroom for added comfort; however, they may not completely mask the sound of passing trains. Guests should be aware that train activity may interrupt sleep.



🚪 Narrow Doorways: Interior doorways throughout the cottage, including bedroom and bathroom entrances, measure approximately 28 inches wide. These narrow openings may be difficult for guests with mobility limitations or those using mobility aids. The cottage is not wheelchair accessible.
