Magnifique séjour pour 3 générations

Vaste demeure dans un tout petit village du moyen âge Jardin ombragé, très bien fleuri avec piscine d’autant plus appréciable que les températures étaient caniculaires. Mais l’essentiel réside dans l’accueil des propriétaires N’hésitez surtout pas à demander à Mirella de vous préparer l’un ou l’autre repas, vous pourrez savourer des mets délicieux qui vous seront servis sur une table préalablement dressée par ses soins. Nous l’avons fait 2 fois dont une pour notre anniversaire de mariage et nous avons été ravis. Nous avons aussi profité de l’opportunité de demander une dégustation de vin à Francesco, sommelier/ producteur passionné. Possibilité de nombreuses randonnées en pleine nature.

This Villa was the perfect escape while also close to some fantastic day trip experiences. I was lucky enough to have a wedding here and also one week stay with family. The hosts, Mirella and Francesco, were exceptional for both our stay and our wedding. The experience was unforgettable, and I cannot thank them enough. Highly recommend this property for both vacation and small events.

La maison de Mirella et Francesco est configurée en plusieurs appartements qui permettent à la fois la vie commune et autonome. Située à 450 m d'altitude, elle permet la visite des cinq terres et du nord de la Toscane (Pise et Lucques sont à 1h). La maison est dans un petit village et les principaux services (supermarché, carburant) sont à 15 minutes de route. La piscine est agréable ainsi que la fraîcheur des soirées. Mirella et Francesco sont des hôtes qui répondent efficacement à vos demandes. L'équipement est assez rustique mais fonctionnel. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful palazzo. The apartments were spacious and clean. We visited with an extended family, so each smaller unit could have their own apartment and some space whenever needed, yet we could all eat outside together (or inside on the occasional rainy day), and spend time in the pool. The kids (ages 2-6) especially adored their pool time. There are lovely small towns to visit nearby. The host, Mirella, is gracious and kind, informing us of local events, and times when local merchants had things to sell, vegetables/fruit, bread, fish, etc. There was also a festival over the weekend with local artists selling their wares, and music and food in the park. Highly recommended!

Wedding at Palazzo Del Duca

Words can’t describe how amazing our stay and wedding was at the Palazzo! During the last year of wedding planning Mirella has been in constant communication with us and provided us with an OUTSTANDING wedding and stay. If you’re looking to get married in a 1275 AD palazzo that was formerly inhabited by the Duke or Parma I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Magical destination wedding

We had our wedding at the palazzo and stayed there 4 nights with friends and family and it was perfect! The palazzo was very spacious with more than enough room for our party of 15. Each floor is its own apartment with bedrooms, a living space, kitchen and bathrooms. It was very clean and well kept, and the garden was beautiful and blooming with roses during our stay in mid May. One thing to note is the village where the palazzo is situated is very remote. We tried to call taxis for transportation at first but there were only two individual drivers in town and they were often not available. We ended up needing to rent cars to get to and from the train station and nearby town. The property host, Mirella, was absolutely amazing. I cannot thank her enough for helping make our wedding day so perfect! We were in communication for almost a year beforehand, as she helped me plan so much of the wedding. She was so incredibly helpful and kind. She set up the arrangement of tables and chairs for the ceremony and dinner, helped me arrange the wedding cake, got me in contact with an officiant, and the list goes on. She truly went above and beyond. Mirella also cooked our wedding dinner for us and our 23 guests and it was incredible! Course after course of authentic and delicious Italian food! We were so full by the end of the night we could hardly eat the cake!If you are thinking of having a small destination wedding or family trip in the mountains of Italy I highly recommend!

A magical place perfect for all types of celebrations

Staying at this breathtaking palace was nothing short of magical. My mom and I celebrated our birthdays here with 20 of our friends and family, and the experience was more than special. The setting is simply stunning — medieval architecture, beautiful pool area, and an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate. Every corner of the palace exudes charm and beauty, making it a perfect backdrop for any celebration. The hosts, Mirella and Fransisco, were absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless, greeting us warmly and accommodating every request with grace and ease. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality added a personal touch to the whole experience. And the food! We had a four meal course and all dishes felt like a feast, with exquisite flavors and beautifully presented dishes. Fransisco held the most perfect, relaxed yet informative, wine tasting with their own wines - highly recommend! The palace had an almost fairytale-like vibe — especially during the evenings, when the soft lighting and candlelit dinners made everything feel truly magical. The palace is truly the perfect place to celebrate, creating memories that will last a lifetime. If you're looking for a unique, enchanting, and utterly luxurious stay, this is an absolute dream!

Quiet and relax

We had a wonderful time at Palazzo del Duca the temperature was fine even the heat wave of August, the property was clean and well deserved. We choose a family diner with the Chef Owner which was excellent and we had to admit that she cook like a real Italian Chef, everything was homemade. Communications and advices were very fast. One word, go !

Amazing experience

This beautiful palazzo in a small remote medieval town nestled in the hills, but also close to the coast was the perfect location for our group of 20 people. The accommodation was very clean and spacious, with multiple kitchens and large living areas, perfect for group get togethers. The garden and pool area were lovely. A local bar was nearby for meals, morning coffees and pastries, with shopping about 20 minutes drive to Aulla. The communication with Mirella prior to our arrival and during our stay was excellent, and Francesco was very friendly and helpful with information and tips on where to visit during our stay. These included trails and restaurants, as well as some very interesting towns. One of the local restaurants provided an unforgettable location and a banquet meal that many in our party ranked as one of the finest they have ever had. We were also able to easily visit Pisa, Lucca and Cinque Terra during our stay. Everyone enjoyed this amazing location. It was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.

A little peace of heaven

We all enjoyed an absolutely wonderful whole family holiday celebrating two milestone birthdays. Mirella and Francesco were the perfect hosts and helped us on many occassions to book excursions. Our accommodation was clean, spacious with all the charm and sophistication of its setting but each family enjoyed their own privacy. Mirella went out of her way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. There is so much to see and experience and can thoroughly recommend a wonderful meal cooked by Mirella and a wine tasting night hosted by Francesco. The large pool is keep exceptionally clean. The highlight of our holiday was a hot air baloon ride over the Chianti vine yards. Would we visit again? ,...... in a heart beat and intend to do so again soon

Words can’t express our amazing experience at the Palazzo!

My husband and I recently got married at the palazzo last week and I can’t put into words the gratitude we have for Mirella and Francesco and how incredibly our stay was! Mirella and I have been communicating back and forth since February planning our big day as well as our day since we were 20+ people staying at the palazzo. Her responses were always so positive and quick! Her care and attention to detail is really what helped made our day so special and our stay so comfortable. When we arrived to the palazzo and during our stay, Mirella and Francesco always made sure we we’re comfortable and happy and answered any questions we had. Their sweet daughter also entertained our son who’s 1 and my niece and nephew. It felt like they were apart of the family by the end of our stay. Everything they did for us, was above and beyond. I must add, during your stay - make sure to ask Francesco for a wine tasting! He makes his own wine and he’s so knowledgeable on everything. We decided to include his wine for our wedding which was a huge hit! Mirella is a talented cook and created such a wonderful menu for our wedding!! People are still thinking about how delicious it was. If you’re considering a stay or planning to have your wedding or family event here - please do so! This was such a unique, unforgettable and amazing experience. My family and I are already talking about coming back. Palazzo Del Duca, Mirella, Francesco and their beautiful daughter will forever be cherished ❤️

Perfect remote getaway

Palazzo del duca was a perfect venue for our wedding. Set in a remote village nested in the mountains, we had a marvelous time with 21 people. The interior is rustic and gorgeous. The stone walls made the interior cool even during 80 degree days. The pool and landscaping were beautiful and clean. Perhaps best of all, Mirella and Francesco were incredibly helpful. Mirella catered 2 magnificent 4 course dinners for our group (one of which was our wedding reception) and accommodated people with dietary restrictions (my wife is a vegetarian). Francesco (a sommelier, grower, and wine maker) hosted a wonderful wine tasting where he explained the entire process in intimate detail. They made our stay magical and we would recommend their beautiful venue. Thank you!

A good place for a relaxed family time

Quirky old stone house with many rooms and an eclectic mix of furniture and art. No insects in the house but lots of flies outside because of the unusual humidity when we were there. Charming garden area enclosing the pool which is ideal for kids. Mirella and Francesco and their sweet daughter, Elinor are great hosts, with suggestions and lovely meals on request.

Wonderful stay for family of 19

Mirella and Francesco were fabulous hosts and we had a wonderful stay!! They were invaluable in assisting us with dining options, and logistics and are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Mirella also cooked us a fabulous meal (for 19!!) and we highly recommend the experience! The pool and yard is a lovely oasis, the home is charming and was perfect for families we had staying with us. Each level has a kitchen, or two except the attic, almost every bedroom has a private bathroom, and while it was hot during the day most nights were wonderfully breezy, but we also had room fans for the 2/14 nights we needed them. AND THE WI-FI WAS AMAZING!! Which we have never had in all our previous Italian vacation rentals. Thank you so much Mirella & Francesco!!

A Magical week

We waited a long time for our large family to get together at the Palazzo. It was a magical week in such an amazing spot. It was hot but that didn't deter us from enjoying it all. The wonderful pool area, the great apartments for each family, the history of the area., the cooking by Mirella/s team. etc. All fantastic!!!

Fantastisk, og autentisk oplevelse.

Vores familie havde en meget intim og afslappende ferie i dette gamle, smukke hus, Palazzo del Duca. Alle nød stilheden og de smukke omgivelser, hvor vi kunne være sammen og nyde hinandens selskab, børn, unge og voksne. Opleve en smuk gammel by. Spise lækre italienske retter i den lokale bar/restaurant. Man følte sig hurtigt hjemme, alle hilste, som var vi en del af byens beboere. Det er en oplevelse vi aldrig glemmer. Tak til Mirella og Franscesco.

Unforgettable days in Tavernelle

Our group fo five families and 22 young and not so young people had really nice days in Palazzo del Duca. What a wonderful place! Mirella was a great hostess, and the wine tasting with Francesco was unforgettable. We really enjoyed a lot of the exciting things you can do in the area. One of the highlights was the hike we had from Rifugio Prato Spilla via Monte Bragalata. After passing a few hundred altitude meters, we were rewarded with a fantastic view of Lunigiana, all the way to the sea. Highly recommended!

Traumurlaub im Palazzo del Duca

Leben wie Gott in ... Italien. Das mittelalterliche Tavernelle ist eine Oase inmitten einer tollen Region. Wir waren 19 Personen. Angefangen von der 83 jährigen Oma bis zu den Kleinkindern von 3 Jahren. Alle haben sich im Palazzo del Duca sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Villa mit seinen vielen Appartements und Zimmern ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Mirella und Francesco sind wunderbare Gastgeber. Sie standen uns mit Rat und Tat stets zur Verfügung. Reservierungen in Restaurants (für 19 Personen) wurden völlig unkompliziert erledigt. Die Restaurants (Venelia, Ristorante la Torre) der näheren Umgebung sind wirklich empfehlenswert. Mirella ist zudem eine begnadete Köchin und Francesco ein Sommelier mit Herz und Seele. Die Region bietet viele Möglichkeiten zum Wandern, für Tagesausflüge ans Meer (Cinque Terre) oder Stadtbesichtigungen (Lucca). Dieser Urlaub wird uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Wunderschöne Unterkunft und tolle Gastgeber

Tavernelle ist ein verschlafener, hübscher kleiner Ort in einer tollen Region Italiens. Wir waren insgesamt 21 Personen, die gemeinsam in der Unterkunft von Mirella und Francesco zwei Wochen verbracht haben. Es waren mehrere kleine Apartments in einem Haus, welche wir bewohnt haben. Es gab genügend Badezimmer und Kochmöglichkeiten und auch am Pool und auf der Terrasse hatten wir genügend Platz für die Vielzahl an Besuchern. Mirella und Francesco haben und herzlichst empfangen und waren stets erreichbar, für alle möglichen Fragen und Anliegen. So haben wir von Wander- und Restaurantempfehlungen, Wegbeschreibungen und Tipps für die Umgebung von ihnen profitieren können. Alles ganz unkompliziert, per WhatsApp - sogar die Restaurantreservierung in einem sehr beliebten Restaurant auf einem Berg in der Nähe lief einwandfrei per WhatsApp. Besonders erwähnenswert ist auch die private Weinverkostung, die Francesco uns geboten hat. Nahezu täglich hatten wir die Möglichkeit, direkt vor der Unterkunft lokales Gemüse und Obst, Fleisch, Fisch und Brot aus den Verkaufstransportern heraus zu kaufen. Direkt um die Ecke hatten wir auch ein Café/Imbiss/Bar, wo wir häufig einkehrten. Ob zu Tischtennistournieren oder einem Abendessen oder nur für kühle Getränke. Zu der Unterkunft selber: Sie ist wirklich toll eingerichtet, mit vielen antik wirkenden Möbelstücken und Dekorationsobjekten. Sehr stilvoll und hübsch. Natürlich sieht man aber auch an der ein oder anderen Stelle, dass es sich um ein sehr altes Haus handelt, was dem ganzen aber auch einen gewissen Charme verleiht. Für uns als große Gruppe, die jährlich in dieser Konstellation in den Urlaub fährt, war ungewöhnlich, in mehreren Küchen zu arbeiten, da eine allein nicht groß genug gewesen wäre. Aber auch das hat mit etwas Eingewöhnung gut funktioniert. Es gab auch genügend Badezimmer, sodass keine Wartezeiten entstanden sind. Lediglich ein wenig mehr Abstellfläche und ein mehr Möglichkeiten, die Handtücher aufzuhängen, hätten wir uns in den Badezimmern gewünscht. Leider wird der Wasserdruck weniger, je höher man im Haus „wohnt“, was das Haare waschen etwas erschwert. Vielleicht reicht es hierfür schon, wenn man die Duschköpfe und Wasserhähne für die nächste Saison erneuert, sodass wieder mehr Druck entstehen kann. Da kenne ich mich zu wenig mit aus. ;) Zusammenfassend können diese Unterkunft mit bestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen ! :)
