For your comfort and flexibility, our Hospitality Team will provide a self-check-in at the property. A code will be informed to open the lockbox and collect the keys. To avoid any delays, please inform us your flight number and the estimated time of arrival at the apartment with at least 48 hours in advance.

Escadinhas das Portas do Mar sits at the meeting point between Alfama’s historic lanes, Lisbon Cathedral and the riverfront around Praça do Comércio. It is an especially good location for travellers who enjoy exploring on foot: you can move easily between the older streets of Alfama, the waterfront and the central shopping streets of Baixa without relying on a car.

The immediate setting is distinctly historic and local, with pedestrian stairways, traditional façades and small restaurants woven into the neighbourhood. It is a rewarding base for guests who want to experience Lisbon’s older rhythm, although the route home includes steps and narrow pedestrian passages rather than direct vehicle access.

The main advantage of the location is how easily you can reach much of historic Lisbon on foot, including Alfama, Lisbon Cathedral, Praça do Comércio, Baixa and Rossio.

Terreiro do Paço Metro Station, on the Blue Line, is around 4 minutes away on foot and is useful for reaching other areas of the city. For connections to additional metro lines, Baixa-Chiado is one stop away.

Because the apartment is in a pedestrian stairway, a car is not essential for a stay here and cannot reach the entrance directly.

￫ The property is self-catered. Basic items are provided for your arrival, including toiletries for the first day, toilet paper, etc. These items are offered as a courtesy only; replacements or refills are not included.

￫ Bed linen and towels are provided according to the number of guests confirmed in your reservation. For stays longer than 7 nights, an additional bed linen and towel kit will be provided free of charge at check-in.

￫ The cleaning fee included in your reservation only covers the check-out cleaning. Extra cleaning services or additional linen changes can be requested during your stay and are subject to an extra fee — these requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

￫ Check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out must be completed by 11:00 AM. Upon departure, the keys must be placed inside the lockbox. Only one set of keys will be provided.

￫ During the stay, guests are responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property keys. Please do not leave the keys in the door lock or in the mailbox. If technical assistance is required to open the door, or in case of damage to the keys and/or lock, the resulting costs will be charged to the guest. In case of lost keys, a penalty will apply.

￫ A travel cot and baby chair are available upon request and subject to an additional cost.

￫ For stays of 28 nights or more, monthly utility consumption above €150 will be charged separately. By completing the reservation, the guest agrees to these terms.
