Paulo is an amazing host and welcomed us very nicely. The location is perfect, on a ground floor no stairs, and very cozy and comfortable. Can't recommend this enough!

Lisbon - My happy place

Fantastic apartment and fabulous location. All amenities are within walking distance. Great communication with the owners. Will definitely come back.

Excellent location, wonderful neighbourhood

This property is in an excellent location in a wonderful neighbourhood. Paulo was very informative, helpful, and understanding when we were wrong about our check in date. It was so convenient to be picked up at the airport upon our arrival in Lisbon.

Stay near Principe Real

Lisbon is one of our favorite cities and we were looking forward to staying in the Principe Real neighborhood. Paulo Franco, the host, met us at the airport and drove us to the apartment, gave us a brief tour, pointed out some of the amenities, gave us the keys and left. PROS: fabulous location; amenities are within walking distance, Paulo was great. It was so convenient to be picked up at the airport upon our arrival in Lisbon Close to city transportation – bus and metro CONS: The apartment was suffused with a cloying, musty smell that you could actually taste. We opened all then windows and threw on both air conditioners. It took hours for the smell to diminish, but it never fully dissipated There was rust in the bathroom on the shower caddy, the pull alongside the shower wall, and mold and discoloration in three corners of the shower floor. The toilet paper holder was broken. We walked, one time, in stocking feet and found that after going from the ‘living room’ to the bedroom the soles of our socks were colored grey from the dirt on the floors. Although a washer was available, we did not use it because the drying rack was rusting at various points, the rack was outside in a small. Several other issues can be resolved relatively quickly - we did not raise them at the time because some would not be 'fixab;e' within the time we were there.

Excellent Location

Location, location, location! Paulo's apartment is in beautiful Príncipe Real and central to everything! The apartment is on the ground floor on a very quiet street but within a few minutes walk from all the action of this vibrant neighbourhood including dozens of amazing restaurants and bars, Príncipe Real garden (beautiful park with different vendors depending on the weekend), and the famous Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. Barrio Alto is a 10-15 minute walk and Rossio Square and Avenida da Liberdade are also within walking distance. If you don't feel like walking, main routes for bus, tram, and the metro are really close. There are many nearby shops to pickup essential groceries. The apartment is small but has basic necessities and has an air conditioner and washing machine which we made good use of during our month long stay. There were a few minor things that needed some small repairs such as a chipped/cracked floorboard (we let Paulo know this). Wifi is great and fast. Be aware, the building itself does have a "musty" smell which was initially in the apartment unit but dissipated once we opened the windows and let some fresh air flow through. Don't let this put you off as this is very common in many Lisbon apartment buildings due to their age. We saw a cleaning service in the building regularly, keeping the common areas immaculately clean. Overall the apartment unit is clean and very tidy. Though for my personal taste the bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly as I did find a stray hair on the floor. However, this is a cleaning service issue that can be rectified. This is the only reason I gave the cleanliness category 4 stars. Communication with Paulo was excellent. He answered all my questions promptly. He even picked us up from the airport. He is very personable and helpful. With a few small improvements, this will easily be a 5 star apartment in every category. We would stay here again and recommend it.
