Posto incantevole, appartamento bellissimo!

Luis è stato molto gentile e disponibile con noi, l’appartamento è molto bello, pulito e luminoso! È stato un vero piacere soggiornare qui. Il quartiere è magico, comodo e centrale. L’ideale per spostarsi e conoscere Lisbona. Consiglio vivamente un soggiorno in questo bell’appartamento e ringrazio ancora Luis per la sua disponibilità e cortesia.

Bellissima vacanza!!

Lisbona è bellissima!! Abbiamo trascorso alcuni giorni a Lisbona ed è stato tutto molto bello ed interessante. L'appartamento di Luis in Alfama è molto carino, pulitissimo e dotato di ogni confort. Si trova a pochi minuti a piedi dal Castello di St. Jeorge, dal Belvedere di St. Luzia ( con fermata del tram 28) , dalla Cattedrale e dalla fermata della Metro (S.Apollonia) e Alfama è un quartiere molto carino e particolare. 1. This is listed as a 2 bedroom. It is 1 bedroom. The foldout couch is in the living room, which does not have doors and is the living room, not a bedroom. This is why the rating overall. I messaged vrbo to try and leave but it kept disconnecting. 2. It’s probably time to replace linens and pillows as everything is stained.3. The bed is very firm, not uncomfortable, just firm and thin.4. There is an almost sewage smell coming from the drains, if you put a bowl over it then it’s fine.5. The stairs up are very small and steep so that could be difficult with luggage. 6. The ac was leaking really bad but they did fix it quickly. It seemed like maybe the tech stepped on the bed in shows so that was not ideal. 7. There are signs everywhere so definitely cuts down on the relaxing feel.8. There is a low arch at one point which is a concern for taller folks.9. The couch is not the one in the photo so that does impact how many people you think can sit there.

Très bon séjour !

Le quartier est fabuleux et regorge de petits restaurants typiques et délicieux. Des arrêts d’autobus à quelques minutes de marche pour se rendre partout dans Lisbonne. Le logement est parfait pour 2 personnes. Luis, le propriétaire, est très réactif aux messages et questions, tant avant que pendant le séjour. C’est très facile et agréable de communiquer avec lui. La seule chose à noter est que le logement se situe au 2e étage et que l’escalier est étroit, en pente abrupte et les marches sont plus hautes que la moyenne. Pourrait causer un problème pour des personnes à mobilité réduite ou des gens plus âgés. Je recommande !!

MAGNIFICA UBICACION

Pequeño apartamento pero suficiente para 3 personas. Muy limpio. Bien situado en Alfama y muy cercano a restaurantes, supermercados, cafeterias, tiendas de recuerdos,.... Transporte publico a cinco minutos del apartamento. Parada del Tranvia 28 a cinco minutos en mirador de Santa Lucia. A diez minutos andando de la Plaza del Comercio en un agradable paseo. Muchas gracias a Luis al que no conocimos personalmente pero siempre nos atendio de forma casi instantanea a cualquier duda. Semana inolvidable. Ya queremos volver

Alfama apartment

Wonderful small apartment, big enough for 2, in a great central location. Luis was an excellent host who responded to questions immediately. Very clean and compact. Up 2 flights of narrow stairs.

Excellent séjour dans le quartier typique d’Alfama

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à l’appartement de Luis qui, bien que petit, dispose de tout le nécessaire. Les escaliers n’ont pas été un souci majeur pour nous....cela fait partie d’Alfama !

The owner treated us with complete arrogance and contempt

On booking apartment we informed the owner that we were in our early 70's, would not have access to wifi/internet whilst in Lisbon and that one of us would be sleeping in the lounge and could he please make up the bed ready for us. Owner replied that we should not worry and that everything would be ready for our arrival. I agreed to phone on arrival at train station so that he should have time to meet us at the flat. The taxi driver did not know of the address so I phoned Luis and he gave taxi driver instructions. On arriving at our destination we were surprised to discover that the taxi had to leave us some distance from the apartment as access was not possible. I then phoned owner who told us to make our own way to the apt. We had no idea where it was and the owner then told me to use my phone gps system and he would open the door automatically. I reminded him we had already said that whilst in Lisbon we would not have wifi. He was quite off hand and said he couldn't come and meet us for some time and he would send his cleaner. The lady arrived but unfortunately could speak no English. We struggled up to the flat and with enormous effort managed to get our cases to the 2ndfloor up very steep and rickety stairs. The bed in lounge had not been made up, the cleaning lady did her best but communication was very limited. We were left with only one key, which meant that should one of us be left in the flat with no key we would not be able to open the front door to exit. There was no light on the lower stairs for the first 2 nights. I sent a text to owner and he told me that I would have to contact him through HomeAway as normal texts were too expensive. I again reminded him that we had no wifi access but I noticed, on arrival back in uk, that Owner still continued to send messages via HomeAway instead of phoning or texting me. There were no instructions left in property regarding use of appliances. Both my friend and myself cook on gas so we had no idea how to use electric hob. Neither was there any information regarding local facilities There was a burnt out socket in the bathroom and a very dangerous step in the lounge. The final straw was when the people upstairs moved in and it sounded as if the ceiling was going to cave in. We decided to leave the flat early without seeing Owner and spent last 2 nights at the Holiday Inn, Liberdade. The flat was ok for 2 but not for 4. Very disappointing especially as Alfama was a great area

Amazing location!

We had a lovely time in Lisbon! The apartment is super clean, nicely decorated, equipped with everything needed. The most important- the location is just amazing- hidden in narrow streets of old town in Alfama. Not far from metro, tram & bus stops, so very easy to reach from the airport/convenient to explore further spots of the city. There are plenty of cute restaurants near by. Luis is a great host! So friendly, easy to communicate, super fast in replies. He gave as lots of recommendations that we have tried and all was great. What’s more, he accomodated our special request regarding the check- out with no problem. I will recommend this property to my family and friends and hope to be back soon too! Thanks again Luis :-)

Alfama, Lisbon apartment

This was a tastefully decorated very small apartment in a good location of the Alfama/Fado district of Lisbon, Portugal. During the booking process I asked the owner if it was on the first floor and he said no, on the second floor. He said he could help carry our bags for us so I agreed to book and pay in full the apartment. I gave him notice a few days before our approximate time of arrival and we texted him we were on our way so he could meet us. We had to phone him when we arrived and he let us in electronically and was not close to the location. We then had to climb more than 2 flights of old steep wooden steps carrying all our luggage on our own. The apartment is cute, but very small, and is ok for 2 people, no more. There is 10” space to walk around the bed, and when sitting on the toilet, there is 2” to the sliding door. No fan working in the bathroom so very steamy. It was a nice hot small shower stall and sink. It was nice to have a clothes washer with soap, and a clothes line outside the big door/window, & a drying rack. It was pretty quiet at night except for the sound of garbage cans being dragged over the cobblestone sidewalks in the early hours. Grateful for the secure space and Luis supplying us with coffee pods and a very clean space. Would recommend using the apartment, but take note of the stairs. Also, no lights were at the bottom set of stairs, so we used our cell phone lights.

The location, in the old part of Lisbon, with its narrow stone pathways, was a delight. This place is in a courtyard with many neighbours, local and friendly. Access to the main Praco Comercio and the Museo do Fado are huge bonuses. What is not a bonus is the distance one must hike up, and I mean up, to the property while lugging a large suitcase. Upon getting to the apartment, it was very difficult to negotiate the extremely steep and narrow steps with suitcases. The biggest disappointment of all was finding that the two-bedroom apartment is a one-bedroom apartment, with a pullout bed in a very small living room area. Our contact person, when asked about this, insisted that it was a two-bedroom. Unh-unh. No way a pullout in the smallliving room translates to a bedroom. Our host was not there to meet us but opened the doors remotely.

It's tired....pictures are deceiving

Access is not conducive to older travellers with large suitcases. Various sources of noise throughout the night. Central access to old town Alfama very good.

Great place to stay in the Alfama district. Clise to everything and very professionally run

The apartment is equipped to be able to prepare simple meals. We had relaxing breakfasts every day in it. Luis was very attentive and helpful with restaurants, sites and other local inforation. The only negative is that the bathroom and shower were rather small. We will be back and will rent from Luis again.

Great location & Clean!

My husband & I stayed here 3 nights. We can’t say enough about Luis who meet us at his place at midnight (our flight was 4 hours late). He was trustworthy, polite & if we needed anything, he was a phone call way. His place was exceptionally clean & very comfortable. I loved staying in the Alfama area; many small, delicious restaurants & cafes near by. Felt safe in the area & apartment. Totally recommend!
