Taste of Lisbon

Had a great 3 night stay in the central area of Lisbon. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and easy locale to hire a Tuktuk for a few hours exploration of the city historical sights.

Great apartment

For a first time in Lisbon the location is good. Right by the Metro. It is a busy tourist area. Plenty of eats to choose from and close to the Santa Justa Lift. Great place

Location, Location

We visited Lisbon at the beginning of June; the city was crowded but manageable. This apartment's location is great - in the heart of the historic center - particularly for first time visitors to Lisbon, it is a great place to stay. We felt safe at all times and we were near everything we wanted to see and visit. The apartment has great transportation options: taxis, trams, buses, Ubers; and of course you can walk anywhere. This apartment has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, which made our stay so much more convenient. The apartment is clean and you can tell the building was renovated. I certainly recommend this place to stay.

Our stay was excellent but they do need to improve on ways to communicate! We were locked out of the building, as a resident locked the main door with the key so the code although worked did not allow us in. it was midnight & with a data only plan & no way to call the number, Luckily the local shop owner allowed me to use his phone & eventually we got back in but let me tell you it was an issue!!! Also too many codes & lounge needs to be replaced as it has a broken spring that jars in your bottom. Location was fantastic & all in all (apart from the above) we did have a great stay.

The floor in the bedroom had trash on it that had not been swept- old dental floss, wrappers, receipts. The internet was not working. The bathroom sink was clogged. The management company was responsive but it still took half a day to get this all resolved. I still have not been refunded my cleaning fee. I had to throw out the dental floss myself because we arrived at night.

Lovely apartment, great location

There are lots of things to love about this apartment. The location is very walkable, with lots of restaurants, just beware of the tourist traps. And although you hear music and talking from the street well into evening, both bedrooms are at the back of the apartment, and with the doors closed absolutely quiet. Also completely dark with the shutters closed. The beds are super comfortable, and both bedrooms have good closet space. The second bedroom is quite small, and that bathroom is tiny and awkward. Good couch in the living room, but the two side chairs are pretty uncomfortable. The air conditioning works well and cools fast, and has separate controls in the bedrooms and living area. The host agency is very quick to respond by email and phone. The keyless entry works well with the code, but you might want to ask for it before you arrive, because the app they want you to use didn’t work for us.

Fantastic Location, Experience Could be Better

Stayed in September and couldn't be more thrilled with the location and size of the apartment. Great windows overlooking the hustle and bustle of the city. Our stay was nice, with a couple inconveniences: Check-in was difficult, as the door code/handle was very complicated and didn't always work property. Needed to call someone to assist us the first time, and when the instructions over the phone weren't working, they sent someone. Every time we came back, we typically had to try the sequence and instructions a few times to get the door open. Easy fix for someone and would make a big difference. My biggest complaint was the towel situation. There was a sign on the washer and dryer that you could not wash towels but could call a number to swap. During our 9-day stay, we called one time (after 5 days) to exchange our towels for a clean set. It was re-iterated to us that we were forbidden from washing the towels but told if we wanted clean towels, we would need to pay $50 to change all the towels and linens. Very frustrating to have to use dirty towels for 9 days when all we needed/requested was one clean set. Again, the location could not be beat! Many times, at rental properties, I've had the property manager make contact or check in. This is run by a "hands off" remote company, so it was definitely a unique experience for me. Didn't put a damper on the stay, but probably would not return due to the inconveniences (because have had wonderful stays elewhere).

Great location, but short on amenities and helpfulness.

Beautiful apartment in great location, so for that I think it deserves 4 stars. Some issues during our stay. We arrived at 12:15, and they would not let us drop our bags off. They wanted us to walk over a mile to their office, dragging all of our luggage through the bumpy and hilly streets of Lisbon. We ended up paying $30 to store our luggage at a business. I have *never* had an accommodation not let us drop our luggage. We did not ask for an early check-in, just to drop our luggage. We were not allowed in until exactly 3pm. And to really irritate things, they came to our apartment prior to check out time on departure day wanting to get in early to clean. We had an afternoon flight, so we were relaxing in the apartment until checkout time. When we finally were allowed in, the apartment was clean except for one bathroom. It was full of hair, and I had to clean it up in order to use it. Also, the apartment was very short of amenities. The only thing provided was handsoap and toilet paper. They asked that we take the trash out but only provided 2 trash bags. There was no dishwasher detergent, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, tea - nothing. Also, we were never able to get the dishwasher to run correctly, or the washing machine, because there were not instructions in English on how to use anything. It was all in Portuguese. I still gave 4 stars because it is a nice apartment in a great location. Corporate owned, so just not great, personalized service like we're used to.
