Quaint and Cozy Cabin
We celebrated a cozy and comfy New Year’s Eve in Ginny’s Cabin. Jeff was most gracious and hospitable. The cabin was rustic, yet well-appointed. The hearth and fireplace was my favorite spot to be. Little Switzerland is a gem of a community, and the peaceful environment was the perfect settling for a restful respite. Highly recommend for a sweet and cozy weekend surrounded by historical charm and the most fabulous quilts.

Exactly what we were looking for
We were looking for a rustic but comfortable cabin to have a technology free outing with our young teens. Even though this space had tv, internet, and cell service, we didn’t use them and it was awesome. The kids even survived and our stay flew by with family games, time in the kitchen and actual face to face conversation. This was a time capsule with modern comforts and a very thoughtful host. We have only been home for a day but already talked about staying again.

Great & Cozy Stay
Really enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was clean, organized, and well-appointed so that we would be instantly comfortable. The location was excellent for hiking down to the village or driving out for further excursions. We would absolutely stay again.

Cozy cabin
Relaxing stay in an authentic cabin, top faves were the fireplace, goodies left by our generous host and all the extra blankets to keep you cozy. The grill is under a covered porch. Location is perfect to the gem mine, conservatory and Little Switzerland is right down the road. If you are looking for an authentic cabin feel close to activities this is it.

Wonderful return visit
Another wonderful family stay at Ginny’s cabin! Enjoyed a nice evening at the fire pit with property owners. And always nice to hang with the resident pets. We will definitely return.

Charming Cottage

Almost every advertised aspect of this historic cabin was either an exaggeration or a lie. We were OVERRUN by BIG black ants the entire stay in every part of the cabin! Imagine BIG black ants in bed, all over the kitchen and eating areas, dropping down on you from the ceiling as you watched television, etc. Upon arrival an hour after we could check in, the A/C wasn’t turned on and the cabin was around 80° downstairs and at least 85° upstairs. Unacceptable! The supposed “walkable” areas are only so along very narrow, curvy, two-lane roads with no shoulder or sidewalk, and the actual “Village” is over 15 minutes walk away down and up steep hills. Nowhere is it mentioned that the Property Manager lives less than 100 feet from the cabin, so privacy is almost non-existent, with the patio/fire pit area almost right beside his home. Lastly, for reasons that defy belief, the Property Manager decided to mow his lawn and the grassy areas around the cabin starting at 3:00 p.m. on the Saturday of our weekend stay. My expensive Jeep sat within ten feet of where he mowed, but was luckily not damaged. My wife had to come inside to get away from him mowing, which he did for around 90 minutes. The price per night for these conditions and behavior by the Property Manager is RIDICULOUS!

April mountain respite
Jeff was a superb host who thought of everything to make our stay memorable- from the oversized marshmallows for s’mores to wood for a blazing fire to condiments in the fridge and keurig coffee pods to personal dining recommendations he was the host’s host. We would definitely choose his cabin again. Thanks, Jeff!!

Back for a second time.
We enjoyed Ginny’s cabin so much last time that, just ~ 3 months later, we returned for a second visit. Freezing rain, snow and temps below freezing didn’t prevent us from finding a warm, cozy place by the fire and enjoying this wonderful cabin. Thanks for having us!

Beautiful rustic cabin
Jeff was a great host. He is right next door willing to help or answer any questions. Nice cabin with everything you need. Weather was cold but we stayed warm with the beautiful fireplace and all additional heating sources that were offered throughout the cabin.

Cozy Christmas Stay
My wife and I always go away for a weekend around Christmas time for a stay with our doggies. The cabin was the perfect spot for our weekend away. It was so cozy, sitting by the fire… we so enjoyed making a fire in the beautiful fireplace. The hosts had added so many things to the cabin to make the stay there awesome- from the makings for S’mores, the bottle of wine ( might I add dressed in its own Christmas sweater) , all the things you would need in the kitchen, bathrobes, heated blankets and so much more. We loved our stay . Our doggies so enjoyed sitting by the warm, crackling fire too!

Quant old cabin that has been updated. Met owner and Ginny, his four-legged host. She was very friendly, and we enjoyed her visits. Great place for a getaway and leave the world behind. Beautiful area in fall with tree change.

Great Getaway
If you’re looking for a place to chill, Ginny’s Cabin is the perfect place. It combines rustic charm with modern conveniences, a beautiful location, and access to some incredible trails. Jeff is the ideal host, accommodating but not intrusive. We spent a wonderful three nights there with our two German Shepherds and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Property was a bit more rustic than I expected, but was very well supplied-wine & snacks etc.
I would characterize it as a “clamping” experience, just because it was bit cold and drafty at night. We just put extra blankets. we were gone most of the days out hiking all day. It was fine as a place to crash and regroup for Blue Ridge Parkway drives. Enjoyed

Exceptional experience
Our experience from pre-booking to check out was flawless. Jeff, property owner, adds such warm details such as hot cocoa, s’mores and snacks for the arrival. The cottage is beautifully decorated to bring out the historic details. Five star experience! We will be back!

Great Location, Very peaceful
Me, my wife, and our dog Simon had a lovely stay at this cabin. Jeff was very accommodating, gave us a quick tour, and then we never saw him again, which was sort of a shame because he seemed like a really interesting person. It is a really old cabin, nobody knows how old, but Jeff has done a splendid job of updating it, it has good power, great internet connection, hot water, and it is clean. Walking to the Little Swiss Chalet is not an issue, and we enjoyed a couple nice dinners with that amazing outside view. The best part for us, and what we were there for, was immediate access to BRP, enjoyable 30 minute drive to Linville Falls, and great hiking with the dog. Also, very enjoyable drive down BRP to 80 to Burnsville. I don't think you can find a nicer, more convenient spot, in this specific area off the BPP and 226A.

Charming and cozy cabin
Had a magical time visiting the quaint town of Little Switzerland. Jeff is quite a thorough and gracious host---met us upon arrival to walk us though the cabin and explain the surrounding area and things to do! The cabin itself is perfect for a getaway weekend in the mountains. Must use the fire pit and fireplace to make the experience! Loved that Ginny's cabin was dog friendly!

Loved this cabin
My husband and I stayed here two nights with our small dog. It just happened that it was a spring snowfall and it was very cold. We are from Florida and it was an unexpected adventure. We stayed warm with the fireplace and much appreciated electric blankets on the beds. The cabin is rather large and has so many extras. There is a small sunroom, a wonderful wood-burning fireplace and a well-equipped kitchen. So many extras that really made it special. It is a fantastic location just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We were surprised that the parkway was closed, but it was open our last day. Definitely want to come back when the weather is a bit warmer. Highly recommend this cabin for a special getaway.

Perfect Mountain Getaway
Where to start! We were looking to get up to the mountains for a weekend away and do some hiking. We were drawn in by the large indoor fireplace, and the fact that it was a cabin. Everything from communications to getting settled in and checking out was super easy. Jeff is a great host! The cabin was super clean, there was firewood, start logs, and a lighter ready to go. Nothing like a crackling fire and some hot cocoa on a chilly night. There is also an outdoor fire pit, we never got around to utilizing it.... next time. There are USB charging ports located in the bedroom and living room which was super convenient. Our huskies enjoyed roaming the yard and laying on the porch. (along with hiking with us)The cabin is right off of blue ridge pkwy, which means getting to hiking locations is quick and easy, another reason we chose this location. There is a dog friendly brewery about 15 minutes away, along with some antique shops and other local shops. We are looking forward to staying again.

Amazing mountain cabin - a rare find!
This cabin/property deserves 10 stars! My family (husband and two teenage daughters) stayed at Ginny's Cabin four nights and had a fantastic time. The cabin is cozy, beautifully decorated and really lends itself to family bonding - we loved hanging out by the fireplace every night, playing checkers, and sitting in the sunroom to read. The owner (Jeff) was amazing, he is super responsive with any questions leading up to the trip and pulled out all of the stops on stocking up the cabin with supplies (firewood, toilet paper, coffee, etc.) and welcome treats. We have rented numerous cabins and this is the first time we had this experience with such an accommodating owner, it felt more like a bed & breakfast! :) The location is really great too, it is walking distance to the shops & lodge restaurant and short driving distance to many great hikes. We will definitely rent this cabin again, but next time for longer!

Was a relaxing 2-day stay. Cabin was very rustic located in the woods so very secluded. We were there off season for many of the attractions in the area but we weren’t looking to do a lot in any case. Jeff was a great host and his white lab Ginny was a real sweetheart.

Great stay
The home felt like a rustic cottage feel and was very cozy. Our stay was great but only issue is we couldn’t use the fireplace much as we wanted sine ur was causing too much smoke coming inside the home. The owner was easily accessible by phone and lives at the home right next to it if we needed anything. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely stay in a historic cabin
The cabin is rustic and lovely. We were visiting during a cold spell and getting the heating just right was a bit tricky. Jeff was able to share tips with us and we appreciated that. We stayed warm with the additional electric heaters and blankets. The cabin is very cozy and has all the amenities you need to enjoy a stay in the mountains. We appreciated the lovely bottle of wine and snacks that greeted us upon arrival. We enjoyed grabbing coffee and books at the nearby bean and book cafe just down the road. Be sure to check out The Tropical Grill in nearby Spruce Pine for delicious empanadas and churrasco steak while in the mountains.
