“I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). ”

“What a fantastic B&B, free parking right behind if you are lucky. The accommodation was lovely, the rooms are brilliant, our room (right at the top) was boutique style with a nice big bath in the room, great views out of the windows. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities in the room and a private toilet. Nice comfortable big bed with a big heavy duvet and plenty of pillows. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. “Left each morning before breakfast so nice to be offered a takeaway sausage sandwich, thank you. Got a couple of evening walks and pre-warned about possibility of closed restaurant if quiet but other options not required as lovely and busy. ”

“When I arrived I received a very warm welcome from the owner and all of the members of staff that I met. I had an excellent dinner on two nights at the hotel and once again the staff were excellent offering a very personal service. On one of the nights the restaurant was quite busy but it didn't affect the great service or the time it took to prepare my meal. It was the same at breakfast where the choices were excellent. ”
