Chessington Safari Hotel

Checked in at suggested 3pm was good friendly service. Not busy. Nice clean room (Monkey Temple in AZTEC hotel). Loved how the kids had their separate room space with their bunkbeds and their own TV. Although not worth the £239 B&B price tag (not including park tix) – feel really disappointed that the prices can hike up so much during school holidays ☹ but it was the only date we could travel on. Would also have loved a later check out than the 10am. Toiletries were poor – got 1 shampoo, and 1 shower gel to share between the 4 of us! Would have expected bathrobes and slippers too at this high room rate price. There was no wifi available in our room during our stay – apparently broadband was down and someone was calling them to get it fixed but it never came on. Got a lovely view out of our window on arrival on such a bright day (although, I’d say the rooms in the Sarafi hotel have a more direct view onto the Wanyama View) – then quickly headed out to the theme park. The windows were full of condensation in morning – couldn’t see a thing out onto our view of the animals. Tried to wipe with a towel only to discover the condensation was on the outside. Also don’t think the main animals get let out into the Wanyama View until the park opens at 10am, same time as check out ☹ . Leaflet in room mentioned binoculars for the kids – but we didn’t find any. complex is very nice. Modern & clean. Few different arcade rooms for the kids, a movie corner, a small shop and swimming
