Bait and switch?? Host contacted me 6 days before the start date to say that there were 'maintenance issues' in the listed property, and would I be happy to switch to another apartment for the same price? I had no time to make alternative arrangements, so I agreed. 2nd apartment was located in a close-knit community that is safe and friendly enough, but has limited restaurant choices and almost no pubs. Street outside was noisy all night long, even though it was a side street. 2nd apartment only had 3 BR, not 4. 3rd BR was locked upon arrival, had to text host to get key access (quick response though). Bathroom - Mouldy grouting on the bath/shower. Broken showerhead. Kitchen - No toaster or microwave. No kitchen sink drain plug for washing dishes (made do with a bowl). Teabags and sugar provided. No salt or pepper. No paper towels or things to use for napkins at the table. Seating- kitchen table for 4 with small sofa for 2 people. And this is supposed to be an apartment for 6 people??! Bedrooms - comfortable enough. Electric outlets not working in one of the bedrooms. SUMMARY: do not trust this host.
