Bright, spacious stone cabin built in 1914 featuring a large cozy living room + fireplace, piano, full kitchen, and luxurious claw-foot bathtub w/ separate shower. We've decorated in our vision of an authentic French apartment with some Topanga ambiance. Fringed lamps, king plush mattress + original bathroom door from the 1st settlers of this historic property. Additionally, there are lovely private trails & creeks to explore stunning canyon scenes. Public hikes + Topanga town 2 minutes away.

This charming cabin is decorated in French style. It features a comfortable king size bed, lovely decorative stone fireplace, beautiful antique work table and full bath., featuring a clawfoot bathtub + separate shower. In the living space, there is an open plan vaulted ceiling living room with piano, fireplace and full kitchen with all amenities. The Historic 1914 Stone Cabin is a lovely mix of antique and modern, nestled in the mountains with surrounding lush woodlands, creeks, and nearby hiking trails.

There is a beautiful view of the canyon in the daytime and an abundance of stars at night. A fire is permitted ONLY in the LIVING ROOM - please bring your own supplies. **Please note that using the fireplace in the BEDROOM is NOT PERMITTED as it's not functional.

The unit is completely self contained and private but please note there are two other apartments surrounding the cabin which have their own private entrances and amenities.

We have a brand new wireless router with extremely fast WIFI at 150mb per sec. We also have a new, very reliable tankless hot water heater that never runs out of hot water for the bath/shower..

We provide all basic needs except toiletries.

You will be nestled in a 13 acre mountain village with other cottages, forests and mountain views. You’d never know you were anywhere near a city!

Visiting this property is a very unique experience, some describe it as “glamorous camping”. No extensive photo taking, NO PARTIES, NO LOUD MUSIC, quiet time after 9pm, Dogs are welcome for a $18 fee per pet, per night. Cats are not okay for their own safety and allergy restrictions. Dogs are not permitted to be left unattended during your stay. If it causes a disturbance, a $25 fine will be implemented. $40 fee for loud music or excessive noise.

DISCLAIMER: This is not a standalone cottage. This is a private home conjoined to other units all with their own private entrance. This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your party will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside, some dust or a spider web - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.

Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - WIFI - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

FILM AND PHOTOS SHOOTS: This is an amazing property for photography, and film, with 13 acres of rustic cottages, oak forests and sculpted streams.

Please note we have special, and quite reasonable rates for filming, in addition to the normal rental charges. Student and Commercial rates are the same. Commercial or student filming is not permitted without permission.

Cell phones may not work here, but we have very strong WIFI - with no password needed. Many find that enabling WIFI CALLING on their cell phones makes sure they can make and receive calls/texts as usual.
