Traditional attractions in this popular resort include beautiful Victorian gardens and two splendid piers with amusement arcades. Enjoy using old-fashioned coin slot machines that sit alongside the latest video games and enjoy an ice cream or fish and chips. Climb aboard a boat trip from the South Pier to see the seals on Scoby Sands and explore the excellent Lowestoft Maritime Museum. The spectacular, 12-acre gardens at Somerleyton Hall (5.5 miles), with their remarkable yew hedge maze are a must-see.
