Costruito su misura, progettato dall'architetto, concetto aperto e cottage separato in stile country, il Swallow Point Retreat si trova in alto tra gli alberi, si affaccia sull'oceano su tre lati e dispone di una spiaggia e un molo privati.

Questa proprietà è disponibile per affitto vacanze solo come casa o casa con cottage.

La casa dispone di soffitti altissimi e pareti di finestre di vetro che lasciano entrare molta luce naturale e sfruttano al meglio il suo ambiente boschivo e in riva al mare. Questa architettura unica offre una pianta unica a due piani per vivere e dormire.

La camera familiare principale è aperta al secondo piano e presenta un'area salotto con camino a legna, nonché un'area rialzata con porte che si aprono su un ampio ponte che si affaccia sull'acqua. Questa camera dispone anche di due zone notte soppalcate adatte ai bambini più grandi, una su ciascun lato della stanza, accessibile da scale e con lati aperti. Sotto ogni soppalco c'è un armadio e una scrivania, che possono essere schermati da tende.

Sempre al piano principale si trovano la cucina con bar per la colazione, sala da pranzo con terrazza avvolgente e bagno completo. C'è un letto a scomparsa Murphy nella sala da pranzo, che può essere chiuso per la privacy.

La suite matrimoniale è al piano superiore. Occupando tutto il secondo livello, è aperto al suono dei salotti sottostanti, ma non è possibile vedere il letto matrimoniale e l'area separata dell'home office. C'è anche un bagno con doccia e lavanderia.

Il cottage con due letti e un bagno è situato a breve distanza dalla casa principale. Ha un soggiorno con camino a legna e tavolo da pranzo, una piccola cucina con bar per la colazione, tra cui forno a microonde a convezione, due piastre in ceramica, frigorifero con congelatore e lavatrice / asciugatrice. Camera da letto con letto matrimoniale; camera da letto con letti a castello e spazio per una culla. Bagno con vasca / doccia combinato.

La proprietà si trova in ampi terreni privati raggiungibili da un lungo vialetto. Una scalinata conduce alla propria spiaggia di sabbia privata e al molo.

Dramatic, but some issues

PLUSES: • Dramatic home high on a hill on the end of a peninsula with water on three sides visible through three sets of two-story tall walls of glass and from open deck. • Magnificent panoramic view on open deck of Chester Basin (no waves). • Tiny private beach & dock • Close to Chester & Mahone Bay and their basic supermarkets • Lunenburg an easy drive • Responsive agent manages property • Cute small 2 bedroom bunkie with kitchen, 2 BR, 1 bathroom included • Private location, ultra quiet, fun to listen to the loons • Nice screened / glass porch • House won 1991 Nova Scotia design award • Good whole-house water filtration system—well water tastes and smells fine • All Nova Scotians are always so nice! • The minuses did not overpower the pluses (for us) MINUSES: • There are no real bedrooms: the Master BR is an open private loft on upper level with bathroom • There are two small loft beds accessed by steep ladders on either side of one (of two) living rooms. Murphy Bed is in the dining room • One bathroom on the 1st floor • ALL rooms on BOTH levels are separated by a few steps up and down which may be fall hazards to seniors or toddlers – ie steps up to master bed and from DR to kitchen • The stairway to the small beach is about six flights down (and up) stairway • Cleaning crew does not do an adequate job on the kitchen; agent said he would address that; there were dirty pots and appliances; dishwasher is long-in-the-tooth / marginal • TV but not live streaming

Family Vacation

The main house was stunning and the view of the basin was amazing. The windows and decks gave an upscale tree house feeling. We may have seen seals! The cabin was quaint and beautifully decorated. Both homes were clean. We had everything we needed, even to make a fire on a chilly night. The stairs to the dock and beach were steep but there were benches in several spots on the way to rest. The path along the waterline was scenic. The location was secluded and quiet. There were plenty of nearby restaurants. We would definitely return and recommend this gorgeous home.

Another great week at Swallow Point

Another perfect week behind us from staying at this unique and private property in Chester Basin. Close enough to the amenities of Chester and an easy drive to Mahone Bay, this property offers a tranquil escape from the every day. This is our second year staying at Swallow Point, and we were just as thrilled as before with the property, the main house and the separate cottage. Swimming off the dock was a real joy, the kids were exhausted by 9pm, the sunsets overlooking the water were spectacular, and everyone slept soundly. What more could you ask for in Nova Scotia?

Truly special

What a unique and memorable stay we had at this breathtakingly beautiful property! The house won a well-deserved architectural award in the 1990s-the property is amazing with views from every window. I walked the gorgeous path along the point every day-very peaceful and just exactly what my friend and I hoped for and more. The house is very well-equipped for everything you need for your stay. The location was private yet only a short drive into Chester and Mahone Bay if you care to drag yourself away from those views! Paul was very prompt at getting back to us for little things we needed. The little cottage was an extra treat and also very well-equipped - can't say enough positive things about this beautiful property!

Spectacular Property

Enjoyed 10 days at this wonderful property. The main house is large and airy with enormous windows that provided breathtaking views of Chester Basin. The cottage is a delight and very cosy. Highly recommend this very private property.

Slice of Heaven in Chester Basin

In terms of a Nova Scotian holiday, the swimming beach, dock and views from the property cannot be beat. The home itself is impressive in its design and situation on the land, well cared for and has all the amenities needed for a family vacation, but still offers a relaxed, cottage vibe. On account of the location, the internet was slow and spotty at times, and on account of a 16-year old trying to fix it, became a bigger issue - but the Property Manager and owner were very kind to help us resolve it during our stay. We miss our week at Swallow Point road, and 100% hope to return to this slice of heaven someday.

The Birdhouse!

Very cool award winning architecture puts you up high in the trees with amazing views. We didn’t know about the trampoline which was a big hit with the kids. Kids also enjoyed the private sandy beach when the tide is low. Bring your fishing rod this time of year with the Makerel running. Had a small problem with the wifi but was resolved quickly by management. Only real challenge we had was we brought a boat but the floating dock was not connected to the wharf. We had to borrow a mooring and a kayak to make it work. We would definitely return.

Terrific Family Vacation

Our family enjoyed our week in the main house and cottage. Perfect set up with the grandparents in the cottage and the kiddies and mom and dad in the ‘mansion’ as the kiddies called it. Lots of swimming and fishing and a couple trips to local beaches!

Beautiful property surrounded by water.

This place is a true gem! My family loved our two-week stay in this one of a kind property. The architect that designed this house did an unbelievable job of ensuring that everywhere you look is a breathtaking view of Nova Scotia's natural beauty. The giant windows overlooking Chester Basin and the extremely tall ceilings will create a visceral reaction in you that must be experienced. Other things I loved: 1. The grounds are extensive! You can basically go for mini nature hikes while on the property. 2. You will always have a place to sit. There are so many comfortable couches and chairs that you have no choice but to just relax wherever you are. Which is exactly what we all need. 3. The design. The house is just fascinating. It's clear that the architect of this property thought into every aspect of how this house works. From the lights inside the stairs to log hovering over the kitchen stove, there are so many aspects of this house that add to its unique aesthetic. I wasn't surprised that is had won awards. 4. You have everything you need. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds and bedding are comfortable and clean. 5. The cottage. The cottage is just as nice as the main house. It's stylishly decorated with lovely little kitchen. If you have a larger group, you can be confident that everybody will have a great place to sleep. My kids and wife would definitely come back to this place. Highly recommended!
