Wow! For a Super 8, this property was great! Bed and pillows were dreamy, another person in my party describes the beds as "bouncy," but I like a soft bed. The pillows weren't flat, not too soft, not too hard. Shower was hot, had great pressure, and the drain actually drained! I will say, the biggest drawback is that the walls are paper-thin, I could hear the person in the next room taking a whiz...granted, I was in an adjoining room (although I didn't know that other party and the door was closed and locked). Even so, I slept great! Everyone at the desk (I assume the owner and his family), were very friendly and offered some great dining options - we went to The Brewhouse (down a couple of blocks) and it was fantastic, both service and food (we had walleye and Irish egg rolls). If I were to visit the area again, I would definitely stay here again.

We liked the convience of the location for where we were going around Verona area and Madison. For our 4 day stay there were not alot of dining options close by. Breakfast was average but did have it every morning. Did not like that the trash in our room was not picked up when we had a 4 night stay even though we asked. We also had to ask for towels when we thought staying 4 nights we would get fresh towels at least twice without asking. Did not understand the $75 fee for any incidentals and so far it has not been added back to our card.

Clean, nice staff - met expectations for a simple, lower budget overnight option. (Unfortunately I overpaid but it was parents weekend last minute). For a reasonable price I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Nice rooms, accessible location. The only problem is that the breakfast was very minimal. It was unimpressive the first time I stayed here a year ago and it's gone FAR downhill since.

Uncomfortable Stay.
Booked suite for $195. Hotels.com stated suite fits 4-6 people but it only fit 4 people with one queen bed and sofa sleeper. Forcing me to pay for additional room with two queen bed for additional $150. Management did provide a single rollup bed to suite. Refrigerator motor was noisy all night. Could not sleep with noise and on uncomfortable single rollup bed. This trip was an expensive and terrible experience.

The staff was friendly but absent from the desk most of the time. We had paid for the booking (2 nights in early September) and were surprised that they asked for our card to "verify" something. That night we saw a charge for Hulu on our statement for $8.43 so we assumed it was for TV/wi-fi related and didn't think too much more of it. However, 3 days after our return home we got a call from our bank that there was a suspicious charge for $73 and some cents for Apple Music out of California, wondering if we had made this charge. Of course we did not and so the bank refused payment and we had to have a new debit card issued. I don't know if the hotel staff was responsible for this charge, or another of the two businesses we attended. But since the additional Hulu charge seemed suspicious, we would appreciate if it could be checked into. We can not call the hotel directly so that is why we are reporting it here.

Disappointed
Started out well with a free upgrade to a whirlpool room since there pool was out of order. Came back the next day to grab things out of the refrigerator and everything was thrown out and our cold bag was taken. Told the manager that my brother was going to use the whirlpool tub since we were not staying the second night, but it was already paid for. He said absolutely not because he gave us the upgrade. I told him they threw out our stuff abd he just said, I didn’t know she was doing your roo. Didn't even apologize.

Apparently I got lucky and it wasn't a super booked couple of days. Super quiet and staff were great to deal with. Bummed the pool was closed for maintenance though.

Wouldn't stay here again!
When we pulled up to Super 8 the outside condition of the building was awful. Upgrades certainly need to be made. The landscape was unkept and the garbage was overflowing. We only saw employees of the front desk when we arrived and left; otherwise, never saw them.

No frills - Served the Purpose
Clean, no frills hotel. We booked r/t close proximity to an event we were attending. We had a late check in d/t the timing of our event. The bed was comfortable and the King room adequate. Breakfast was bare bones: coffee, toast, cold cereal, banana, juice.

It was ok except for three things. There usually was no staff at the desk and we had to use our keycard to enter the front door. (We tried using the phone provided, but nobody answered.) The breakfast was very sub-standard and was not promptly re-filled; also, the only protein available was yogurt. The pool was not available.

Very nice staff
The staff was very nice. The room was very clean and it had everything I needed. Looks like they were working on some upgrades in the hallway and a little loud at night, but otherwise no issues.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Seems to be currently managed more like a B&B, but felt safe and cared for. Somewhat dated property, but can see they are trying to do some updates. Overall excellent for the price.

Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
Do not be deceived by the somewhat run-down appearance of the outside -- this is a fantastic place to stay. Beds are comfortable and customer service is beyond expectations. The doors are locked at all times and you must use a card key to get into hotel and there is no daily room service but otherwise, great place to stay. When we were there, hotel was not working and we were disappointed but there is so much to do in and around the city that we didn't end up needing the pool anyway.
