Horse Riding in Medora !!!

Family Reunion
The house was perfect and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. Detailed instructions were very helpful. We did not get to meet the home owner as he was working, but we did spend lots of money and time at his place of business. We would definitely recommend this place for a great vacation. Too bad it rained for 2 1/2 days but we did as much as we could. Thank you Brad....

Checked off bucket list in an amazing way!
Took our parents to see the Medora sites as it has been something they’ve been wanting to do for a long time. What a great experience to have all 8 of us in one place! We had plenty of room to be together & space for when we needed down time! The view was gorgeous! The amenities were fantastic. Great time had by all! Thank you!

Gem in North Dakota

Perfect location

Family gathering
We enjoyed the Boots house for our trip to see our favorite Burning Hills singer (daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin) in the Medora musical. Great space for everyone, hot tub was enjoyed with the oddly cool temps and your housekeeper was very responsive when we needed some garbage bags. Will definitely look at this property again in the future.

Family Vacation Location
Nice place to stay and great location. Permanent occupants below set off smoke detectors every morning and we could smell Marijuana every evening which was a huge turn off. We felt it was over priced for what we got, what we dealt with from occuplants below and what we had to do before check-out (washing all linens and towels and cleaning the kitchen). The hot tub was great! We loved the bathrooms (jetted tubs and rainfall shower head). The place was super clean and stayed cool. We wouldn't stay in this house again but would definitely consider locations from the same host.

Great view & enjoyed hot tub
We really like the view and the hot tub. But when we walked in it smelled like marijana and that concerned us. The carpet felt sticky, the couches have wear and tear and you can feel the residue. Pillows were not comfortable. The home required the AC to run constantly and on our last night, the breaker tripped. We think there are people that live downstairs, as there were 4 cars parked at all times.

Very Quiet and spacious. We enjoyed our time in North Dakota immensely. We had a girls' trip to South and North Dakota and had a fabulous time with wonderful memories! Thank you for accommodating our ladies group!

Sisters Get Together
Overall, the location is awesome! Plenty of room for 3 sisters and husband's. It was hot during the day which created a circuit breaker to trip a few times in the kitchen area. This required us to go to the basement and into the living area of where others live to flip the breaker. Brad is always great with responding to any concerns or questions. Even with this issue, we would definitely rent this property again!

Nice place but needs some updates. AC wasn’t the best but tolerable. Hot tub wasn’t useable but not a problem as we were too tired to use it anyway. Nice large place for a large group of people.

Hot weekend
It was very hot in Medora when we were there! The air conditioner in living room area can’t keep up and kept tripping the breaker. It really wasn’t very cool in the house except the bedrooms! Other than that the stay was great!

Great location
Boots house is in a great location for visiting Roosevelt National Park. The beds were comfortable. The house had plenty of room for 5 adults. A few issues that could use some attention: Shower in queen bedroom bath squirted outside shower when turned on. One patio door would not lock. I repaired that before our first day trip. Jack and Jill bath has a slight sewer smell coming from sink. We did enjoy our time here as the location is wonderful. The oddest thing about this rental is the requirement to launder towels and sheets before checking out. That was a first for us in our many VRBO trips over the years. If you need the room we recommend the Boots Cabin.

Our group of 6 adults were glad to have a house where we could all stay together (limited in the area). The location near the park and Medora was great. We were glad there was a new hot tub and enjoyed the view from the deck. The host responded quickly to questions. The downsides: the AC units in the rooms cooled sufficiently, however the one in the kitchen/living room was not powerful enough. Also, doing laundry before leaving does not make for a restful morning. However, we knew that going into the rental.

Great place for a family getaway
This is a great place for a Medora family getaway! Located on a property just outside of town, this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a full kitchen, great deck with grill, and fantastic views is a great place for an extended family or family reunion to gather and enjoy the sights and sounds of Medora.

We had a great family vacation in Medora! The Boots House was very accommodating for our families with beautiful landscapes & view. The place had pretty much everything we needed & we all enjoyed family time there!

beautiful property
owner was very responsive. we had an emergency while in ND, and he responded promptly to us reaching out. Property was very clean and great for extended family. would stay there again if going to Medora. Super close to town yet feel like you are out in the badlands instead of in a town! hot tub broken - we didn't know that before- so that was disappointing. ice maker isn't hooked up.....so bring ice.

The house was great for our group of cyclists and support. The amount of beds and bath were perfect. The kitchen was big enough for everyone to make meals. The hot tub was unfortunately broken at the time of our stay. But overall the house was in a great location, clean, spacious and had what our group needed.

Comfortable home in a beautiful location.
Our party of 5 adults was happy with this house. The kitchen was well stocked and plenty of bedding and towels were provided. I agree with other reviewers that having to launder towels and bed linens before departure is not ideal; but this was clearly spelled out in the rental agreement . The house location in a beautiful setting provides easy access to Medora and TRNP. We prefer windows/doors with screens to circulate fresh air through the house. Some of the deck chairs need replacement but this happens in a well used rental. We will book again if we return to Medora.

Overall, our stay was very nice. Beautiful country! We had no problems at all with the renters below us. We were there when the temperatures were above 100 and the air conditioning kept the house comfortable.

Nice place, a few improvements needed
It was clean, spacious, and had a lovely view. We enjoyed the hot tub and charming decor. Also a convenient location close to town. However, there were a few things that should be addressed: The combination lock on the door was very finicky and took numerous tries to lock/unlock every time we used it, when we first arrived we were actually worried that we might not be able to get in. Also, the gas tank for the grill was empty and we had to get ahold of the manager to have it replaced, the overhead light in the bedroom nearest the kitchen didn't work thus making it quite dark in there at night, and the shower in the master bedroom suite was filled with gnats-gross! Given the amount we spent for a two night stay, these are issues that we should not have had to deal with.

Perfect for our family of 9
This was perfect for our family of 9 and had absolutely everything we needed and much more in the kitchen. The location being 1.5 miles from Medora was nice to get away from crowds but close enough to go to town whenever we wanted. I had emailed a few questions to Brad in the weeks before we arrived and he always answered very quickly. We had to call him a couple times while we were there when we couldn't get the hot tub turned on and when we tripped the circuit breaker in the kitchen, and he explained exactly how to fix it immediately. The bedrooms that had window air conditioners were great, the living room and bedroom with portable air conditioners not so much. For that reason and the fact that the hot tub didn't seem perfectly clean and the fact that I didn't like having to wash linens and towels before we left I gave 4 stars instead of 5, but all in all we were very pleased.

We thought the house was exceptionally clean and location was perfect. It came as advertised. Wasn’t crazy about washing and drying our towels and sheets which means the previous guests washed ours but I would stay here again. No issues with employers staying below. Very quiet. Road next to house has very little traffic so overall a quite stay

First time in ND
We were excited to come to Medora, and to check TR National Park off of our list. The house felt like it was out in the country, but you literally could be in town, and at the gate of the national park in under 3 minutes. The house itself afforded some very nice views, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I will caution that the address provided by VRBO left off the letter "S" for south at the end of the address. That translated to our GPS taking us 10+ miles out in the sticks past where the house actually was. Fortunately Brad the owner got us straight, and he was also very responsive to everything else we needed while we were in town. There are people who are staying in the apartment below the house, but we hardly noticed, and they were very friendly and respectful when we ran in to each other and spoke outside. All in all, I would recommend for a single family, or a medium sized group.

Poor Communication
1) Weeks before arrival I emailed a question about registering our guest and the owner never replied. Then on our second day on the property, he falsely accused us of lying about our number of quests, which we never did, as our reservation details showed the correct guest number. Then he said we owed an additional $800, or we had to vacate the property immediately and the owner was unwilling to compromise on the additional last-minute fee that was NOT clear on his Vrbo listing or disclosed upfront. We had a sick child with us on the trip, so vacating was not an option. We had no issue paying what was fair, but this additional fee was unclear from the beginning as the owner did not communicate it well. This made for a frustrating and challenging situation that could have been avoided. 2) House smelt very strong of cigarette smoke, even though it was listed as a smoke free rental. 3) AC did not work; AC was not central air and 2 of the 4 window/portable units didn’t work.

Family Time!!
A great place for families and friends to stay. Enough space for all to enjoy. Gorgeous views, plenty of wildlife to see off the patio. Close to town and the park. We would highly recommend.

WISH I COULD GIVE IT NEGATIVE STARIS
1. Walked in to a strong smell of cigarette smoke through the entire house. Texted the owner and maid but no help. The owner has employees that live downstairs in the basement. Guessing that was the source of the cigarette smoke. 2. Big sign on door as you enter that you are responsible for washing and drying towels and sheets or they will charge you. 3. Flies in the house. We killed a bunch and more came. The house is in a nice location with easy access to trails and just a few miles south of town. We should have turned around and found another place to stay but the kids were tired from traveling. We will not stay here again.

Fun week in Teddy Roosevelt National Park!
Great location to the south park and Medora! Beautiful views from the house! Watched a fox and deer from the back porch! Awesome night sky view of the Milky Way while soaking in the hot tub! Watched DVD movies together each night!

Great get-a-way to be by ourselves, but close to Medora
There were three couples, but originally there were to be four couples. I had to adjust the number of people two days before and VRBO was kind enough to credit me. The house was large, all bedrooms had access to a bathroom. Large deck, hot tub & grill. A delightful get away from the crowds yet close to Medora for shopping & activities.

The Boot House was perfect accommodations for our group of 11. Each couple and the family with two kids had their own space. The bedroom with the murphy bed and big couch was ideal for the family with two kids.
