Welcome to the Murphy Medallion House, a stunning historic mansion in the heart of Midtown Memphis. Built in 1901 as a father’s gift to his daughter, this timeless home invites you to step into a bygone era while enjoying modern comfort. Perfectly located just 6 minutes from Beale Street, 10 minutes from Graceland, and blocks from the Medical District, it offers the ideal blend of convenience, elegance, and classic Memphis charm. This unit can be combined with Unit 2 for larger groups.

The Space:
This two-bedroom retreat offers three queen-size beds, making it a comfortable choice for families, groups, or business travelers. The living room invites you to unwind with cozy seating, a large TV, and a fireplace framed by tall windows that brighten the space with natural light.

One bedroom features two queen beds with fresh linens and modern décor, while the other includes a single queen bed, a decorative fireplace, and built-in shelving that highlights the home’s historic character. With two full bathrooms, everyone can enjoy plenty of comfort and privacy.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, kettle, stove, oven, refrigerator, and basic cooking tools, making it easy to prepare meals at home. Gather around the rustic dining table for a relaxed meal, or step outside to the property’s patio, where you can enjoy a quiet morning coffee or evening drink. An in-unit washer and dryer are also available for your convenience. Hardwood floors, warm tones, and original wood trim throughout the home create an inviting and authentic Memphis atmosphere.

Guests have full access to the private two-bedroom unit, including the living room, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and bedrooms reserved exclusively for your group. There is also a separate common living room in the building that is shared with other guests, and the laundry area is shared as well.

The home is located in the historic Midtown area of Memphis, a neighborhood known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, charming older homes, and eclectic character. You’ll find a mix of quiet residential blocks and lively spots nearby, with plenty of local restaurants, cafés, and bars just minutes away. The property is also close to Overton Park, the Memphis Zoo, and other cultural attractions that showcase the city’s unique energy.

While the area has plenty of charm and convenience, it also reflects the authentic, lived-in character of Memphis, with a mix of modern updates and historic surroundings. Guests who enjoy being near the heart of the city while experiencing the flavor of a local neighborhood will feel right at home here.

Parking is available in the courtyard behind the main house, which has about five spaces shared with other guests, and additional street parking can be found nearby. Most guests use rideshare services like Uber and Lyft to get around easily, as many top attractions including Beale Street, Sun Studio, and the National Civil Rights Museum are just a short drive away. Public transit options are also available in Midtown, though having a car or using rideshare services will give you the most flexibility to explore Memphis comfortably.

The home offers self check-in with a secure smart lock, and a unique code will be sent to you prior to arrival. Fresh linens, towels, and basic toiletries are provided, along with complimentary Wi-Fi to keep you connected throughout your stay.

Everything was pretty good for the time being but 3 major problems were the heat not working too well, the power went of a few times, and I saw roaches. Other than that the stay was pretty nice!
